About Rowan - Adventurers Wanted!
Hey! I'm Rowan. I've been playing tabletop games since I was a kid, when my dad would run Dragon Quest for my sister and I, and then moved onto running one-shots and years long campaigns for my friends in d&d 5e. RPGs have given me some of my favourite memories - whether it's being forced into improvising dozens of book titles in a library by my 'friends', or trying to survive one of my dad's lethal campaigns. I love writing, and creating worlds - and then letting adventurers loose in them to help shape (or destroy) them! In my eyes, the best way to play tabletop games is by not taking them too seriously, while still having an interesting and exciting story behind the jokes - if my players are both engaged, and laughing throughout the session, that's my sign that I'm doing my job!

My favorite shows/movies are
Including podcasts here - NADDPOD is my favourite piece of D&D media, it's a beautiful example of telling deep, rich stories while not taking itself too seriously. Films - The Lord of the Rings trilogy (we don't mention the Hobbit), In Bruges, and A Knight's Tale are my favourites!
When I'm not running games I'm...
Painting miniatures (difficult to use in online games unfortunately), at the gym, or finding inspiration for adventures! (by playing video games)
How Rowan - Adventurers Wanted! runs games
My games are full of laughs, but that doesn't mean the story or the encounters suffer for it! I like to keep combat interesting and unique - just about every combat I run has some extra objective, or unique mechanic. One combat might be a beach volleyball game against 3 incredibly attractive orcs, while the next could be a combat involving traps over the map for the players to avoid, or have a creative solution for. If you're looking for a game that doesn't take itself too seriously, and has engaging encounters, pull up a chair!
Rowan - Adventurers Wanted!'s ideal table
My ideal table is most importantly a table that welcomes everyone. Players will fit well on my table if they are easy going, love to have a laugh, and enjoy creating a story together in the process.
