About Ariel
I am a trans woman with 20 years of GMing experience and a focus on providing a safe environment for players. I started TTRPG with D&D 3e in 2005, but have a love for discovering and experimenting with different systems. I enjoy investigation and providing my players with open-ended problem solving scenarios, with sprinkles of tense but engaging combat depending on the system in use. I strive to foster creative problem-solving in my players, being open-minded towards novel approaches while still providing a measure of constraints they need to work around. I keep my tables safe through careful monitoring of lines and veils and make a point to keep them a queer-friendly space, as I am a trans person myself. I have a firm hand in dealing with players who cross these boundaries and don't let any player feel uncomfortable in my games. I make it a point to thorougly read and understand the rules of any system I GM, as I believe GM have a responsibility of system mastery, so even when GMing a system I have little actual experience in, I make sure to come to the table having studied it carefully.

How Ariel runs games
I specialize in investigations and mysteries. I provide players with open-ended scenarios to roleplay, gather clues and problem-solve without a set of predetermined outcomes or solutions, and foster a creative approach. My games feature a small number of high-stakes combat encounters, in which I strive to challenge my players but always within their ability to overcome, and I make most of them optional and possible to circumvent through clever play and a diplomatic approach. I am to make my players feel challenged, but always capable and heroic.

Ariel's ideal table
I have a firm grasp of game rules and tend to stick to them, but keep flexible to deal with edge cases and creative problm solving. I foster a safe and friendly environment at the table, and strive to make it a safe space with careful use of safety tools and open communication. I deal with toxic behavior, harassment and prejudice firmly swiftly, but try to solve other issues with gentle communication. My ideal players are open minded, open to explore new possibilities, curious and creative. I enjoy RP and investigation, but a sprinkle of challenging but not deadly combat, and my ideal players enjoy a balance of all aspects of play.
