About HC. Murray
I am a college student in Boston who is trying not to overwork himself, and looking to make a bit of extra money playing games that I love. My start in this community was not a unique one. I began playing TTRPGs when a friend of mine asked me to join a game they had just started in their garage. When I first sat down in my friend's garage and heard the scores of Lord of the Rings, Sherlock Holmes, and Pirates of the Caribbean play under my friend's narration of the opening of my first adventure, I knew I had never experienced a game like this and had to suck the marrow out of it. After the conclusion of that first campaign, I ran my own, and subsequently became that group's, along with a few others, "Forever GM." I know that some people turn their nose up at that title, but personally, it works for me. As a self-proclaimed writer, it gives me great joy to see people react to what I have written and created for them in real time. Especially when I gradually began to look into other systems to tell stories in different ways. Since then, I have been trained in the schools of Dimension 20, Critical Role, and Dungeons and Dads, and have simply read the books and written my own adventures.

My favorite books are
When I was younger, I was a diehard fan of books like Goosebumps and American Chillers. Basically, any pre-teen horror. Now I'm currently burning through the Dungon Crawler Carl series as well as a superfan of Derek Landy's Skullduggery Pleasant.

How HC. Murray runs games
I am definitely more role-playing oriented than combat-focused. That being said, I am not against combat; I prefer for the combat to work into the narrative rather than the party just fighting random encounters. Role-play is the backbone of any memorable game, and it is heavily encouraged at my table. Especially if the character is able to mesh well into the world. Furthermore, I will encourage newer players to try and engage in role-play to their comfort level. In very broad terms, I would describe my GM style as 'decently planned improv'. I will plan out an adventure, but if players want to focus on something other than what is planned, I won't typically try and railroad them; I'd just adjust where the goalpost lies.

Rules are...
Meant to be broken, only when it's sick as hell. (and doesn't tpk the entire party)
When it comes to voices
I'm currently at school trying to become a voice actor (among other things), so I hope they're pretty good. I haven't had any complaints yet.

I think min/maxing...
It's fine if the party can deal with the increased difficulty; I will add to puzzles and combat. Furthermore, it will be expected for these players to look out for other players who are not min/maxing
My table is not the place for...
ANY sort of bigotry. With that being said, people make mistakes and deserve some level of grace. As long as it is not a repeated offence.
