About Ashley
Oh hey, didn’t see you there. But since you’re here… My TTRPG journey started the same way a lot of adventures do... by accident. I stumbled on a YouTube video of kiddos learning D&D, then dove headfirst into Actual Play shows. One wild rabbit hole of consumption later, I wanted to play myself. The only problem? No DM. So, I became one. I bought the books, ran my first campaign with plenty of trial and error, and discovered how much I loved tweaking modules, building my own little worlds, and watching players bring them to life. Since then, I’ve used other systems (like Monsterhearts and Kids on Bikes) but D&D 5e is where I’ve logged the most hours. I’m also learning D&D 5.5, Good Society, and Dungeon World to keep things fresh. By day I’m an educator, which means I’m very comfortable teaching new players the ropes—whether it’s how to build a character, roleplay without pressure, or just learn the rules in a fun, approachable way. I’ve even designed and taught D&D curriculums for middle schoolers that cover everything from worldbuilding to safety tools. So, whether you’re brand new and curious, or a veteran scoundrel ready to roll some dice, you’ll find my table welcoming, inclusive, collaborative, and focused on making sure everyone has a good time.

People are always surprised when I tell them
... that I used to be incredibly shy. Acting and TTRPGs opened a realm of possibilities for me that allowed me to feel comfortable with who I am and who I could be. I'm excited to share that with others.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Goblin Energy Always
When I'm not running games I'm...
... writing. As much as I can. Making playlists about my D&D characters. And a teacher during the daytime.
How Ashley runs games
🎭 As an actor, I'm a big role-player and love to get descriptive with things. I'll even throw in an accent or two. 🛡️ I am a big believer in safety and safety tools. Especially when running games where emotions run high and people want to really delve into the nitty-gritty of it all. 🎥 Horror? Slapstick? Noir? Reality TV (don't judge)? Whatever the vibe of the game, I strive to provide cinematic descriptions and both moments of levity and emotional investment. If my players are having a good time, that's what matters.

My favorite trope is...
when expectations are subverted. A barbarian that you thought was dumb? Smartest person in the room. The wizard that's supposed to be book smart? Covering the lack of it with charm. Give me a good twist and I'll eat it up.
Rules are...
there to shape the fun for everyone but are flexible. They are intended to provide players with individual strengths that give them a specialty in a team.
When it comes to voices
I like to really get into it. So, don't be surprised if I turn into a hag before you.
Ashley's ideal table
At my table, respect is the rule and fun is the goal. As part of the LGBTQ+ community, I enjoy people who are open to exploring identities and offer a space where they can do so safely and without judgement. As a Latinx creative, I also love when players from different backgrounds bring their own flavor to the story. If you’re creative, supportive, and up for learning as we go, you’ll fit right in. The vibe is lighthearted and collaborative—plenty of laughs, room for big character moments, and a group that’s got each other’s backs in and out of game. Think of it like an adventuring party: everyone brings something different to the quest, but together we make the story shine.

I think metagaming...
is perfectly natural. Talking about the distinction between what your character knows, and you as a player knows is the important thing here. Using it to take away from big moments from other players? BIG no no.
