About Kenyon

I've been wanting to play tabletop games since I heard about them. Through the years I've played many good, and bad, games that have tought me everything I know about playing these games. With my g-ming I've loved creating storyline, custom items, subclasses, etc, to make my player's experiences wonderful. And while they may not be balanced everyone has fun, which is important.

I became a GM because

I had ideas for settings I really wanted to execute with others, and I wanted to teach people I know how to Play

My favorite shows/movies are

I am obsessed with Cyberpunk edgerunners. It is a fantastic, interesting story of how poor people deal with their daily life in a dystopia essentially. Movie wise A Silent Voice and the Evangelion movies still have me locked into their stories every time I watch them.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Assuming this is asking about free-time and not school, I play a lot of games, watch video essays, and do some creative writing every now and then.

How Kenyon runs games

● Engaging story crafting that incorporates the characters deeply. ●Fun moments that make the more serious ones hit all the much harder. ●Combat with interesting mechanics incorporated and variety in methods to defeat. ●Open communication of what everyone wants at the table. ●Loose leaning with rules when they aren't going to make a fun moment. ●Custom creations to play into what you want to play

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...

James Gunn I feel is fitting. Able to do the levity, the drama, and making the transitions sudden breaks that feel like a car crash, or a natural flow of the conversation.

My favorite trope is...

Exploration of what it means to be human. Specifically inhuman things finding their humanity, and its inverse of Humans becoming inhuman through action or transformation. I believe they're the same trope and they both, especially when in tandem, make some of my favorite media.

Rules are...

Rules are important to make this not just a "Game of Pretend", but the rules can be bent if it's necessary for a good story. I like sticking to the basics of rules and expanding upon them, but if the rules don't create fun they have to be bent and broken.

Kenyon's ideal table

- Communicative with their needs and wants for the game. - Able to match the tone of the moment -Welcoming to new ideas and plotlines presented by me and other players

I love it when a player

Gives me the little details, favorite foods, the kind of music they'd like, etc. I think it helps both of us understand the character more and more.

I think it's a red flag when players...

Try and take the attention from another's scene, I understand wanting to play as much as possible, but leave other's space to breathe in important moments.

My perfect party mix is

Several characters that let us explore multiple different avenues of the setting. The poor, the rich, the normal, the outsiders, etc. The variety allowing for interesting dynamics, moments, and magic items specific to each character.
