About JohnnyKangaroo
DMing for over 7 years I have experience in telling stories of different genres from high fantasy to cyberpunk with whole variety of TTRPG systems including but not limited to DND 5e, Vaesen, Tales from the loop and Things from the flood, Morg Borg and Cortex Prime (with couple of self-written modules). Throughout these years I was lucky to be a DM at one of the largest online Easter European events “KostiKonnect” in 2020 and 2021. The main thing for me is always the comfort of players at my table and atmosphere of safety. I strongly believe that roleplaying games must be a no-judging zone where we can express ourselves and get new experiences. The key to achieving that for me is to discuss beforehand what we are going to play in and to set clear boundaries of what we want and don’t want to see in game.

My favorite books are
1) Jonathan Livingston Seagull - it was an early mindbending experience for me. 2) Three body problem - for its implementation of fiction in mordern world and its development. 3) Between Two Fires - my recent discovery, for its atmosphere and characters.
My favorite system of all Time is
Probably Cortex Prime tho I bieleve each system can be cool as they all are tailored for different things and to explore different systems is the part of fun!
When I'm not running games I'm...
A postdoc researcher at my local university. Constantly learning and searching for inspiration!
How JohnnyKangaroo runs games
My table is really flexible. I have DMed different styles of games from heartwarming roleplay heavy fairy tales to crunchy westmash-style dungeon crawls and I really love every single story that was told. If I had to choose something that is always present, I’d select creativity as I love to see a non-standard solution to a problem and I always do my best to reward such move. Inspirations and rule of cool are always kept close. That being said I love to follow the rules of a chosen TTRPG system, after all it was selected for a reason. So, trying to combine these 2 styles and trying to find that golden balance between them with help of constant learning and research is what I constantly do in order to provide exiting stories and fun time to my players.
