About Ford Brittfoy

Hey, I am Ford or Syk3x, a relatively new DM. I have played a mix of DnD5e and Pathfinder 2e for around 4-5 years now. I have DMed a custom homebrew DnD5e game set in a custom world for around 9 months before scheduling issues broke the game up, keen to start again though! As for who I am, I am a 19 year old studying a mix of Information Technology and Social Work, I am often either studying, playing some TTRPG, gaming or exercising. I am sure you'll learn far more than you need to once we get a game going.

I became a GM because

I want players to feel truly at home in my worlds, to laugh, be scared, to ache with regret, and to carry moments that linger long after the session ends. For 4–5 hours a week you can lose yourself, shape the story with your team, and live in a world that holds almost anything your heart imagines.

My favorite system of all Time is

Pathfinder 2e, I think it is an amazing and expansive system for play that enables really engaging play at all levels. the expansive base enables you to really hone in on the few smaller rulings and changes that need to be done for your table :)

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Underdark, Hag, Cart. which comes from one of the final moments in a previous campaign :) Improve-focused, detailed, forgetful. roleplay, detailed, reactive.

How Ford Brittfoy runs games

I think a lot of the fun in a DnD or Pathfinder game comes from the roleplay, between me and the players but especially between themselves, the small moments by the campfire or the intense ones, staring down a dragon as it gets ready to crush your now best friend or lover. nonmatter the stakes, roleplay often takes the cake and really MAKES the moments unforgettable. I believe combat and exploration are foundational pillars of this, but not the core aspect. that said, I lean toward tactical, higher stakes combat, if things divulge to that situation, things should be tense, uncertain, combat is never the same and it is innately unsafe and real... genuinely, combat is a puzzle of survival.

My games focus on...

semi-realism and immenseness, i prefer things a little slower and on the RP side, Kingmakers spreadsheet style isn't my jam, thus it'll be a lot more roleplay flavored :)

Rules are...

Rules are a great foundation to build off, giving things structure and making it clear what’s expected. They help keep everyone on the same page, but shouldn't be shackles we are forced to abide by. each tables different and overall the Rule of Cool is the best ruling out there.

When it comes to voices

I always have a try, even if i completely butcher the Scottish ladies accent in a tavern and live with that mistake the rest of the campaign :)

Ford Brittfoy's ideal table

My table is built on respect, patience, and collaboration. I’m not a perfect DM, and I don’t expect perfect players either, mistakes and imperfect rulings will happen, and that’s part of the experience. What matters is that everyone is understanding and focused on having a good time together. The best players for my table are people who support each other, get invested in the story, and enjoy building moments together rather than competing for attention. If you like encouraging others, sharing the spotlight, and letting the story grow naturally, you’ll fit in well. The overall vibe is relaxed, friendly, and story-driven above table, but I am okay with almost anything happening in character.

I love it when a player

Helps out another, be it through collaborative builds in combat, or generally just in roleplay.

I think min/maxing...

is generally hard to do in Pathfinder 2e but I don't encourage it, I am generous and don't care for balancing guidelines on how much armor or money per level, you earn it, you have it. so making broken builds isn't really necessary and a creative solution will almost always beat it.

My perfect party mix is

whatever people want to play, you can fill any gaps later :)
