About Solomon
Hi!!! I'm Sol and I am a huge fan of the Cosmere, planning to try running the stormlight archive ttrpg. I've played dungeons and dragons (eternal dm curse) and have a massive passion for immersive roleplay and deep usage of game mechanics in my campaigns. I adore letting my players get creative to solve their trials and deliver them with rewarding challenges. I also happen to be a massive cosmere fan, having read every canon cosmere book multiple times, with an intricate understanding of its mechanics and history, and having even received a word of brandon I hope to deliver remarkably canon compliant campaigns in the stormlight ttrpg. I also study law if that will help your understanding of me, but I am not a rules lawyer!!! player experience is always the number 1 priority and i do my best to make sure everyone at the table is having a good time :)

I got started GMing...
way, way back in primary school my childhood friends and I essentially created d&d in between classes. of course we were a bit late, but we were sketching maps on notebooks and flipping coins to tell stories before any of us had even heard of it. I was very excited to learn this was a real hobby.
My favorite books are
the entire cosmere! the entire reason I am making this account is to try out the stormlight archive ttrpg and I'd like to think I have a complete, fluid understanding of its logic, worlds and cultures to the extent that I can run some brilliant campaigns.
My favorite system of all Time is
the cosmere rpg!!! I've been combing over these books for days now and the systems in place just seem worlds better for roleplay and gm'ing with its opportunities and complications.
How Solomon runs games
Historically, I have always been catering to first time players somewhere at the table, which has made me into a very easy going GM, not frustrated with ay lack of understanding in my players and giving me a willingness to bend the rules in favour of a more compelling and well paced adventure. However I also am very excited to play a much more serious and high stakes campaign within the new stormlight tabletop system and its freeing mechanics. I really enjoy giving my players satisfying encounters, always keeping things fresh, and laying out grand schemes to be uncovered. As a GM, my secret pleasure is honestly that I personally love to see the script get thrown away, to be utterly surprised at an action of one of my players that I have to completely swing the session around with no prep time. I excel at improvisation that can feel as though it was completely intending my players to be insane, and love to see where my players can shape the story in their own, unique and unrepeatable ways.

My favorite trope is...
treasure behind a waterfall (spoilers)
My games focus on...
giving players the opportunity to come up with creative solutions to combat, exploration, and social problems to help find and build upon their characters growing unique identity.
Rules are...
useful, but i always think its more important to tell a compelling story and allow characters to do what they really would do, rather than let rules get in the way.
Solomon's ideal table
I personally value having a variety of personalities in parties to help people roleplay beyond playing as themselves, but staying within a comfortable level for everyone involved of course.. I love a table that's able to flip between serious ,dangerous combat, to being silly and cracking jokes when the fighting's done. I'm a sucker for symbolism, and will throw in numerous clues and hints drawing upon folklore and superstition. Very unlikely for any extremely mature or extreme themes to appear in any of my campaigns. Everyone is welcome, if you'll give me the chance, I'd love to gm for you. :)
