About Sara
Seeking a GM that specializes in horror and the macabre? Then look no further. When I am not GMing I am attending horror conventions and fantasy fairs. Maybe I will see you at Michigan's Rennaissance Festival? I do run and play dnd 5e, but my biggest tabletop passion is Wanderhome. I am also learning Fallout and eventually would like to add it to my repertoire. I would also like to find a group to run the newest edition of Mouse Guard with. When not playing games or attending events, I am working to open up my own business printing and painting miniatures. I have a few years' experience as a successful artist and painter. As a side bar, I am on almost every social media platform, so I am easy to vet and connect with. I am always up for talking anything TTRPG. An honorable mention is a I am a dog-mom so they may guest star at our sessions.

I became a GM because
world building is so much fun and it is even more fun when you see people engage with a setting you built
My favorite books are
Redwall by Brian Jaques, Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, and The Giver by Lois Lowry
People are always surprised when I tell them
I would rather GM than play. I love world building and tend to get more satisfaction from facilitating than playing.
How Sara runs games
Depends on the platform. I am typically more of a roleplay heavy DM, using encounters outside of combat to push the story forward. I also enjoy the use of a random encounter table or even pulling from the deck of many things when playing DnD. Wanderhome is newer and I am in the progress of homebrewing some similar tools since it is such a roleplay heavy game as it is. I also tend to favor a more open world experience, unless I am working with players who have never played the game before. In that case I would start with something structured and with more combat to practice mechanics first.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Tim Burton and Guillermo del Toro
I prep by
pulling from what I am reading or watching at the moment
My games focus on...
the world- horror is more in the context than the BBEG. It's all about the buildup baby!
Sara's ideal table
I like to think of myself as a beginner friendly GM. My table is best for people who like small groups as well as I never run a group with larger than 4 players. I do run horror games, so anyone interested in horror and gothic media. This GM does use closed captions and a voice recorder.

I am for a vibe that's...
calm, low stress, and spooky
I love it when a player
adds to the world and homebrews. I love the open environment to create our own parts of the world and items, not just characters.
I think it's a red flag when players...
try to take over another player's autonomy.
