About Cameron
Hello! My mom started playing Dungeons and Dragons in the 1980s when she moved to Jamaica. I started playing Dungeons and Dragons in 2015, just before I moved to Casablanca. My first character was a Dragonborn Fighter, because I wanted to smack people and also breathe fire. His name was Hogan Bridle. He's one of only four characters I've ever played, because after Hogan's story was done, over the summer break, I stupidly decided to write a campaign. I ran my first ever campaign for my dad and a few teachers at school. They saved a nation from the machinations of a criminal organization. The final battle, in a room full of mirror portals, was hastily prepped the day before. I went off-book, and everyone had a blast. I learned a fair few things from that campaign. Namely, that I should stop preparing every single thing that could possibly happen. When we moved to China, and I started up a new campaign, this time with my friends, I took those lessons to heart.

I became a GM because
I wanted to tell stories with my friends.
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Dungeons and Dragons 5e, Fiasco, and HackMaster (which I do not already know, but many sleepless starry nights would I spend trying to learn - good pastime!)
My favorite shows/movies are
Star Trek, Lost, Whose Line is it Anyway?, Dimension 20, Pretty Little Liars. Jurassic Park, Shin Godzilla, Fire Walk With Me, any Indiana Jones, Coherence.
How Cameron runs games
I am a huge proponent of story-based games, and I love creating a balance of silly and serious. Combat is a must in any RPG, but my combat scenarios have not been known for their deep tactics. I love setting up mysteries, giving my players interesting NPCs to yell at, and describing fantastical locations for my players to mess around in. I've been known to set up dungeon crawls like The Rhomesh Pyramid, which you should ask me about sometime - because I think it's really cool (no bias). I embrace chaos. Usually if someone tries to do something crazy, like run straight up a wall, I'll let them at least try. Running a game where all you say is "no" is breaking the first rule of improv and also no fun for anyone. The game comes from the players, not the GM, so I build my worlds and craft my decision-making around what my players want to do. My story finds my players, and my players change and forge my story. I love wacky scenarios and emotional moments in equal measure, so I hope being stuck in that particular pinball machine isn't too concussive!

I am for a vibe that's...
a bounce between fun/silly and terrible/horrifying. Serious and silly go hand in hand. If there's no silly, then the fear and suffering doesn't hit as hard, y'know?
I love it when a player
... surprises me.
