About David Sol
Hello! I'm David (He/him). When I was 16, I played a TTRPG for the first time, and instantly fell in love with them. What I love about playing and DMing is the possibility to immerse yourself in a new world, far away from real-life problems, and the chance to be something greater than you can be: an adventurer, an investigator, and so much more, all while making friends and using your creativity to the fullest. That's what I love about DMing: telling a story that changes with players' choices. As a DM, my biggest concern is ensuring that everyone has a good time at the table by being inclusive and communicating the aspects of the game that you enjoy and those that bother you. Lines and veils are really important to me in the group. I also strive to make games that have memorable moments that will last a lifetime. I run DnD 5e and Call of Cthulhu 7e. LGBTQ+ friendly! I want a safe space for everyone. I hope I hear from you soon!

Good Omens, Back to the Future, Doctor Who, Disney Movies/animated movies in general, Hannibal.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Watching movies, series or playing games. I also really enjoy going out to drink coffee
How David Sol runs games
As a GM, I try to make everyone do what they want to do. A rule is in the way? It doesn't matter, do it anyway. We are not sure about a certain ruling? We'll make something up on the fly. I want everyone to have an amazing experience. Rule of cool. I usually am focused more on roleplay and choice making in my sessions, but I do enjoy having at least one moment of combat almost every session. I don't do voices, but I try my best to make the characters interesting and true to how they would act.

I prep by
thinking of the main objectives (could be locations, NPCs to meet, a message I want to relay, or an emotion I want my players to feel), and then writing what I think will be fun for it. For the last step, I add music to add to the ambience.
My games focus on...
roleplay, character moments, and choices.
Rules are...
a necessary frame on which the game has its in-world logic, but not set in stone.
David Sol's ideal table
I think someone who cares about the well-being of all the players, including the GM, is perfect for my table. While playing, you should have consideration of the other players' feelings and make sure everyone is comfortable with your actions, especially if you are doing something against a companion's or the group's wishes. Also, since I'm not a GM centered on combat, those who choose to take a different route other than fighting are really appreciated. If roleplay is not your strong suit, I would still like for you to have your character in mind, thinking of what choices they would make, how they would feel after certain scenarios, and so on, as it is an important part of the story for me, and it'll shape the world and characters around you.

I am for a vibe that's...
comfortable, friendly, and open about discussing issues in and out of the game.
I love it when a player
thinks outside the box, and comes up with a solution that uses all of their abilities and equipment.
I think it's a red flag when players...
try to go solo, or try to impose how the game is played on a new or old player. I also think that someone who gets upset with rule changes is not a good fit for my table.
