About Chris

I’ve been creating worlds and characters for most of my life long before I first picked up a D&D book. I’ve played D&D off and on whenever time allowed. I run both premade and homebrew campaigns, but one of my favorite projects has been a homebrew world I’ve been building over time. For this campaign, I invited friends to create characters with detailed backstories and motivations, filling out questionnaires to help me understand their goals, personalities, and boundaries. I then wove these characters into the world. The result is a living, evolving campaign where the world reacts to player choices, mysteries unfold based on their actions, and every session feels unique and personalized. One of my greatest joys in GMing is creating NPCs with distinct personalities and voices, motivations, and memorable traits that make interactions lively, engaging, and often unexpected. I use D&D Beyond for character management and map creators to bring dungeons, towns, and landscapes to life. I’m also exploring the Roll20 platform. My focus is always on engaging, story-driven experiences where players feel invested and empowered. I enjoy giving players space to solve mysteries, overcome challenges, and shape the world around them, while maintaining a flexible approach to rules that embraces creativity and the Rule of Cool. My goal is to create adventures that are fun, immersive, and collaborative, where every choice matters and every player has the chance to shine.

I became a GM because

I've always enjoyed playing dnd and using my imagination. Grown up you don't get to do what the kid in you wants and this is my way to letting that part of me out.

My favorite shows/movies are

Movies I can think of: Lord of Rings, Labyrinth, Fight Club, Dark Crystal, Drop Dead Fred, Deadpool & Wolverine, Interview With the Vampire, and Event Horizon. TV shows: Fringe, Loki, Bones, Buffy, Star Trek, Futurama, Dinosaurs, Street Sharks, Mummies Alive, TMNT, I could go on, love TV and movies.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Practicing voices, taking classes for acting and stunt work like fight senses, and doing auditions. I am also creating characters and stories that I can use in campaigns.

How Chris runs games

I love D&D both as a player and a DM. My DM style focuses on keeping everyone engaged and having fun, using the rules flexibly and embracing the Rule of Cool. I enjoy running mystery and story-driven moments where players get to solve problems on their own, and I especially love worldbuilding and bringing NPCs to life with strong personalities and voices.

My games focus on...

Making sure everyone is included and enjoy themselves. In campaigns that are on going it is a great experience to evolve the characters with the players in their image. There is always a plot but I enjoy a story that develops over time with everyone in on the creation.

Rules are...

I am not a by the rules GM. You have to have structure but we are playing to have fun and create. If you want to try to do something that doesn't evolve causing drama with the group, ask. I will definitely try to make it so, if I can, depending on the scenario and tell you what I need you to roll.

When it comes to voices

I love them, I do voices for NPCs. I encourage players to get into character, make voices if they would like to. All I ask is if you are talking to the GM directly, say player to GM and speak in your regular voice so I don't get confused and start talking to you as a NPC near by.

Chris's ideal table

At My Table I value players who bring imagination, creativity, and kindness to the game. My goal is for everyone at the table to feel safe, welcome, and genuinely excited to be there. Respect & Safety: Everyone deserves to feel comfortable. Humor and jokes are encouraged, but never at the expense of others. Fun should never come from offending or belittling someone. Open Communication: If something said or done makes you uncomfortable, please speak up. We can’t fix issues we don’t know about, and I want to address concerns quickly and respectfully. Collaborative Storytelling: I want players to fully engage with their characters and actively participate in shaping the story and the world. This is a shared narrative, and everyone’s ideas matter. Positive Play: Being playful, creative, and expressive is encouraged—as long as it contributes to a positive experience for the whole group.

I love it when a player

I love it when players use a voice and fully gets into character, and after I describe a scene and ask what they notice, they use their imagination to add details to the world. It adds so much energy and depth to the game.
