About Travis
I started playing D&D 5e in 2015 in a home game and was immediately hooked, not just on the gameplay, but on the storytelling potential. By 2016, I had already jumped behind the screen to run my own homebrew campaign, and I’ve been GMing ever since. I've ran countless 5e campaigns and adventures throughout the years, both homebrew and official content, and generally have had at least 2-3 games a week scheduled at any given point. But, things have slowed down recently with the first new addition to my family and I am currently running only one game a week with my loyal home group. Other than that, I fill in every now and then for the local card shop when they need a replacement GM. I consider myself extremely proficient with VTT and resource platforms like Roll20 and D&D Beyond, and I’m currently learning Daggerheart as well for future games.

I got started GMing...
I began GMing in 2015, right after my first D&D 5th edition game as a player. I immediately saw the story telling potential and GMed my first homebrew campaign. Around the same time, a little Twitch channel called Critical Role began streaming and I've been riding the Tabletop RPG wave ever since.
How Travis runs games
My games are all about storytelling and collaboration. I love weaving player backstories into the world and creating moments where your character’s choices matter. I like to make combat engaging and interactive. I reward players who think outside the box: for example, using the environment, employing clever tactics, or leveraging character knowledge to gain advantage on a certain aspect of combat, rather than just sticking to the most optimal move. I keep combat balanced whenever possible, but will introduce narrative driven stakes to turn the tides if the story requires it. Roleplay is front and center in my sessions. I try to facilitate deep character moments, moral dilemmas, or even a fun night out at the tavern. I aim to create a collaborative story that feels alive. I encourage my players to invest in their own story as well as all of the other player's stories. I watch for the shy players in my groups and pride myself on my ability to give them their own chance to shine. I welcome new players and am happy to explain rules or offer guidance during and outside of a session.
