About Sam

Hey all, as a writer and hobbyist I love filling my time with the making and playing of TTRPGs. Those who wish to journey through my games alongside me can expect ample player focused worldbuilding, engaging narratives and an emphasis on having the best time possible. Whether you're a strength based wizard pushing rule zero to it's limit or a number crunching power builder, I pride myself on ensuring everybody has a place in the story and will do my best to ensure everyone is getting what they want out of any adventure!

I love creating worlds and stories! The joy I get from creating an entire world on the fly with a group of people is such a unique and rewarding experience so I do what I can to chase it and share it with others.

Writing them or playing them! One could even speculate that my reading and gaming hobbies are just modes by which I absorb new ideas for my own TTRPG games but I'd probably be to flustered to confirm or deny.

How Sam runs games

Players can expect a number of things in my games! I have a penchant for elaborate worldbuilding and put great effort into player driven narratives. Versatility is the name of the game and I expect players will find different experiences in each campaign tailored to their interests and expectations. Across the board players can expect lots of detailed maps, tailored music and fun NPC voices to ensure the maximum immersion in whatever whacky shenanigans the players find themselves in. Any and all attempts at player character voices, RP and personal expression will be welcomed.

My games focus on...

Stories above all else. Players can expect a plethora of worldbuilding tools and details to weave into their own narratives. Whether a character is aware of their path or not, one is sure to encounter a great many fun and engaging moments throughout their journey!

Rules are...

Guidelines easily shelved when something cool can happen! I'm always a sucker for some crunchy, rule bending builds but if something doesn't immediately disassemble the foundation of rules on which the game stands, you bet we can momentarily ignore a it to create a fun and memorable moment!

When it comes to voices

I will match and reward any and all effort put in by the players. While I'm far from the impeccable voice actors so often aligned with our hobby, I do my best to provide fun voices for my NPCs. Just be sure to to question why all the "crazed lil' guys" sound the same.

Sam's ideal table

The vibe at the table is most often lighthearted. While the opportunity for more emotional RP or serious, high stakes combat is likely to roll around as the narrative sees fit, I put lots of effort into making sure the atmosphere is fun regardless of the setting. An example is one of my current "play as the monster" campaign where the collection of Eldritch Horror, Fallen Seraph and Vampire characters regularly takes breaks to make and sell bread in an otherwise Grimdark world.

I love it when a player

Reflavours something about their character, class, mechanic or ruling. I'm all about making the story and setting your own so seeing a unique spin on something is always a fun experience.

I think min/maxing...

Is a valid interest for the players as is wanting perhaps the inverse where a character is considered "underpowered". I like to make sure that a narrative reflects the players and take great care in making sure a character faces both ups and downs without impeding the other player's experience.

My perfect party mix is

One that is only bound by what the players want to experience. Too often I feel that a "perfect party composition" is too much at the forefront of players mind when they settle in to play an adventure. I want players to know that one of my adventures is built around them and never against them.
