About Ben
Hello! My name is Ben and welcome to an adventure with me! I have been playing tabletop roleplaying games off-and-on for about twenty years, mostly with Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder. I have been DMing for about five years at this point, and am excited to branch out to more tables. I love helping new players learn about the game and welcome any and all to my games, as long as they do not engage in harmful behavior to themselves, other players, or the game itself. I try to stick fairly close to the rules, but also do not like to get stuck in the tiny details like rations or ammo, and most of the time if you can tell me how your character would try to accomplish something, I'll at least let you roll for it!

I became a GM because
I absolutely love telling a story, and getting to do so with the help and input of others makes things so much better!
When I'm not running games I'm...
Usually consuming SOME kind of DND media, whether that is Dimension 20, Critical Role, NADDPOD, or others, I am almost always interacting with DND in some way
How Ben runs games
I love crafting role-play intense sessions that can drag my players through a range of emotions, and challenging combat that feels like it could end with enormous consequences. I like to play Rule-of-Cool with a lot of my player interactions, as long as the player can justify why the character would/could do something. That said, I don't allow things that could not reasonably happen (you CANNOT seduce someone if they do not have an interest in you, even with a natural 20). Other than that, I try not to get stuck too far down in the details, and play some things like spell components very loosely. My players in my in-person games have described my style as very engaging, and have commented on my character voices specifically.
Ben's ideal table
I am welcoming to any and all at my table, as long as they respect others, and the rules which I have established. I love teaching this game to new players, and having a seasoned player at the table helps in moments where I may miss a question or two.
