About Mario Fragoso

Hi y'all my name is Mario. I am a bilingual (EN/ES) GM, with a strong interest in philosophy, psychology, and having fun through games. I am a gamer at heart whether it be video games, board games, and now TTRPGs! I started my journey with TTRPGs as a GM. I found that lots of my friends wanted to play, but we were missing someone to run the games. So I jumped into the role and have been enjoying it ever since. Most players I have worked with are new to roleplaying games. That being said, to all the new players welcome! As an educator in my day to day life, I love learning and helping people learn too. If we are having fun while doing it, even better! So you can expect patience, a helpful hand, and a desire to make everyone have a good time. I try to run story-driven games with cinematic combat, clear rules guidance, and an honest effort to tell compelling stories. Expect collaborative plots that respond to your choices, moral dilemmas, stylish heists, and hopefully memorable twists.

How Mario Fragoso runs games

As a GM my main goal is to have fun and help others do the same. I love all aspects of gaming, so you can expect a balance of what your table enjoys most. I try to curate the whole experience rather than chase one pillar. Combat, roleplay, exploring backstories, problem solving, and a little chaos all have a place. Following the Rule of Cool when it lifts the whole table and keeps the spotlight fair is what I aim for. I try to make fights fast yet cinematic. The world reacts to your choices, so consequences and moral questions show up naturally. The characters my players make are an integral part of my campaigns. Over time you will notice my love of foreshadowing and character development as a way to create a story together. I am always open to criticism, advice, or requests. If something feels thin, tell me. I improve fast and I’m always tuning the table. Voices are a work in progress, but I make up for it with pacing, clear rules help, and vivid scenes. I admire the DMs from Dimension 20 and NADDPod and enjoy running similar games. Homebrewing and adapting systems to fit the story you want is what I enjoy. I’ve built worlds like CyberInferno and Trees of the Wild, and I’ve run adaptations inspired by Avatar, Naruto, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I’m a philosopher at heart, so you’ll see small sparks of life’s biggest questions, but the tone stays playful and collaborative.
