About Alan
Hey! I'm Alan (he/him), a Dungeon Master who loves telling stories with my players. I've been involved in storytelling for most of my life through theater, creative writing, and tabletop RPGs, and for me, D&D is really at its funnest when the characters drive the story. I'd say that my games tend to be roleplay-heavy, but I also enjoy running cinematic combats that serve as important moments in the story rather than random fights. Expect memorable NPCs, immersive settings, tough decisions, and lots of opportunities to shape the world around you. As someone with a background in environmental science, I put a lot of care into making my worlds feel alive. Whether it's a bustling city, an ancient forest, or a remote frontier town, I really try to make every place to feel like it exists beyond the adventure itself. New to D&D? No problem. Veteran player? You're welcome too. I work hard to create a friendly, inclusive table where everyone feels comfortable contributing to the story. I run games using the 2024 D&D 5.5e ruleset with a focus on collaboration, player agency, and character-driven storytelling. Your first session is always free, so feel free to jump in and see if my table is the right fit for you! :)

How Alan runs games
Expect story-first adventures with plenty of room for your characters to impact the world. Combat in my games is tactical and cinematic, but always in service of the narrative. I love running immersive worlds that you can lose yourself in. Whether you're looking for some gritty urban horror or a high fantasy quest, I've got a story for you!

My favorite trope is...
An unlikely hero rising to the occasion, but found family is a close second!
Rules are...
A medium for telling the story, not a prison to prevent cool moments from happening when the situation calls for it.
