How Nathan Siever runs games
My GM style is probably somewhere in the middle of heavy role-play and character exploration and action-oriented gameplay. I was a storyteller/GM for a Live-Action Roleplaying Game for over a decade, so I deeply enjoy character immersion. I also appreciate the value of some sweat-inducing conflict with an appropriate adversary! While I have a respect for rules and tactics, I don't feel beholden to them over the fun and enjoyment of the table. In other words, I'm always an ally to the players and never a "Table Tyrant". My number one goal as a Game Master is to ensure that the people who sit at my table have a fun and exciting experience. While that doesn't always mean the experience is easy, it should always be rewarding at the end of the session.
