About me

My name is Rob, I've been playing roleplaying games since I was twelve years old, playing ADnD in my best friend's basement. I have a long and abiding love with all forms of collaborative storytelling, ranging from fantasy games like DnD, Burning Wheel, and 7th Sea, to Sci-fi classics like the incredibly-cool-but-disastrously-flawed Shadowrun and Paranoia, to horror games like Call of Cthulhu and one-shots like Everyone is John and Honey Heist. If there's an opportunity to tell a fun story and bring people together, I'll seek it out. COVID hit me pretty hard socially, with a lot of my game group either losing touch or moving away, and I find myself with an excess of free time and nothing to do with it. I'm running a family game right now that I'm really enjoying, and I'm playing in a startplaying game as I write this, but I'm looking to run something a little more structured and hone my online storytelling skills a little bit.

GM Style

My goal in any game is to have fun and tell a great story together. However, I think stories can be told in all shapes and sizes. Do you prefer games of dark intrigue, high-stakes political maneuvering, and deep, dark secrets? Those make great stories! Do you prefer diving into dungeons and fighting epic monsters? What an incredible way to spend an evening! Do you just want to goof around with your friends? Me too! I believe gaming tables should be safe spaces for self-expression and exploration. Obviously that includes being LGBTQIA+ friendly, and while I'm largely tolerant of opposing views, I make no such exception for intolerance. DnD is a place to explore gender, sexuality, and personal expression in a judgement-free environment, and anybody who has a problem with that can tell it to the rocks that fall on their head right before I ask them to not return to my table. Above all, I want you to walk away from any session I run feeling like you spent your time (and your money) well. Every session can't be solid gold, but it's my sincere hope that your overall experience is relaxing, rewarding, and memorable!
