About Keeper_Chris

Hi! Like many of you, I enjoy playing TTRPGs in my free time. Being a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos, my first experience with RPGs was as a player in Call of Cthulhu. I have since expanded into other genres of TTRPGs as well. Occasionally, I do enjoy just bashing enemies and being super powerful, but most of the time I prefer when characters are more human. I enjoy the story, atmosphere, and the dread of knowing something may be around the corner that can't be dealt with using brute force alone.

I became a GM because

I originally became a GM because my friends didn't want to do it. I stuck with it because I realized how much I love telling stories and entertaining my players!

My favorite shows/movies are

I love the old Predator movies and the Alien trilogy! (Yes, that includes Predator 2 and Alien 3! I know those 2 aren't super popular among the fans, but I was young when they came out and I still enjoy them!)

How Keeper_Chris runs games

I like to create scenarios and environments that are interesting and challenging for my players. I believe there should be some sort of mystery, uncertainty, or danger throughout the adventure. I use that to draw the players into the scenario and keep them invested in not only what's happening to their own PC, but also to what's happening to the other PCs in their party. I believe Combat should be meaningful and dangerous. In my games, the PCs aren't the most powerful thing out there. You'll need to choose your battles wisely in my games, and keep your wits about you. I think TTRPGs are best in groups. Obviously, in a group setting, the spotlight has to shift around from player to player. That's why I strive to make my games interesting and engaging, even when it's not your turn in the spotlight.

Keeper_Chris's ideal table

I tend to favor storytelling over rules as written. Though I love running horror games, I hate gore. I'll never describe disgusting things detail, and I expect my players to avoid doing that as well.

I love it when a player comes up with a solution to a problem that isn't just "smash it in the face!"

My table is not the place for...

"Murder hobos" or PVP.
