About me

Hello! I’m Noah, but you may also call me Nugget. I am a 30 year old American writer and a long-time Dungeon master. I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons since I was 12, starting with D&D 3.5. I got to run a game for myself when 4e came out. It awakened a desire to tell stories in me. I have since run primarily 5e and Pathfinder 1e.

GM Style

I believe D&D is a collaborative game, where everyone is working together to make the experience more fun. I focus on the story element of a game; I want to make a tale worth telling with your help and intervention. I want you to enjoy this, so I welcome you to reach out if something is bothering you, or something is preventing you from having that fun. I don’t want to dictate what you say and do in any given situation, so a fair amount of power is in your hands, and progress is yours to achieve; I will avoid forcing you to move on from a scene if you still want something from it, but this can stagnate very easily if someone isn’t on the same page. If you are wasting time on superfluous and meaningless banter, I reserve the right to cut it short and carry on with the story.

I have nothing but good things to say about Noah. He was my first GM and I couldn't have asked for a better start to my TTRPG addiction. His games are one of the things I look forward to every month He is a master world builder and story teller and weaves a good balance of roleplay and combat to meet the desires of all players in a party. If you were to choose Noah as your DM you would not be disappointed.

I used to have a hard time getting into dnd, from GMs who would drop sessions after the first one to others who acted creepy to the female players and I have to say Noah has been by far the best dm I have ever had. I am so glad I met him. He will allow you to say what makes you uncomfortable and work around that. He encourages creativity and helps you break out of your comfort zone to try new things. He has really cool npc and his mysterious magical artifact salesman would make an amazing father figure. (Refence to past campaign I was in of his) If you need help figuring out how to set up your character he's there for you and always accepting of homebrew within reason and as someone who loves more monstrous races that's awesome! But he also respects the lore as well, If you play a gnoll or lizardman expect npcs to be weary of you as would any vendor who sees a demonic dog or barbaric lizard would, It was weird to me at first but I found it actually made the deeds of my character hit harder! I love me a good monster to hero tale. If you want to play a dnd game ran by someone with a fair and creative mind talk to Noah he will take you from the high seas on the search for pirates to small desert towns looking for a band of heroes to protect it from the harsh world.

Noah is one of the best GM's I've ever had the pleasure of playing with. I've been in...more campaigns than I can conveniently count, with him as the GM, and he's always a joy to play with. He cares about his players and their characters, and never plays things straight out of a book. He goes out of his way to craft unique, complex adventures filled with interesting NPC's and stories. He's great but not perfect, and on the rare occasion that things go wrong, he sits down with his players to talk things over, sort out what went wrong, and come to a solution that's satisfying for everyone, because he genuinely cares about making sure everyone is having the best experience they can. He makes sure everyone has a time and a place to shine; he draws shy players out of their shells but doesn't force them to live in the spotlight all the time. He lets the outgoing, energetic players grandstand and carry the conversation, without letting them leave the quiet ones out in the cold. When rules come into question, he listens to player input and opinions, but when he makes a decision, he stands by it. He uses House Rules, but doesn't try to re-write the entire system with them; they're sparse, targeted to improve the player experience. I've carried several into my own games. I've played a lot of RPG's over the years, with a lot of GM's, and if every one of them contacted me, saying they were starting a new D&D campaign, all in the same time slot, I would pick Noah's game to join, nine times in ten.

Nugget is a DM that allows for player freedom but doesn't bet the whole campaign on you doing chaos. All their stories are well put together comprehensive experiences that allow for whatever chaos you'd like to bring along! If you have a quirky backstory or want a solid campaign, Nugget is a great fit! The only issue I've had with Nugget's DM style is that sometimes it can take patience, both in scheduling and in game-play. However these things don't come without reason and as long as you're willing to stay a while and listen you'll walk away with a memorable experience.

He is a fantastic storyteller that allows for a lot of player creativity in how to approach situations. If you're new he's also very helpful for beginners.

As a dm, he's amazing. His ability to create worlds and stories that reel players in is truly something else. He isn't only good at writing stories, but he's also an excelent dm. He doesn't pick favorites and encourages players to have fun and create characters that are fun! He doesn't say "no" to most things, but asks the player to explain how or why the character could or would do a thing. He also knows how to divide character actions and the spotlight for each character/player at one point or another. All around a great dm/person. I strongly suggest you atleast give him a chance.
