About Jonathan
I began playing DND 5e in 2016 and after my first session as a player became the GM for my group. I got instantly hooked on it. In about 2022 I started to look into other TTRPGs and have moved away from DND ever since. Now I am a collector of different systems, that I love reading and eagerly want to run. In my professional life I am a theatre educator for kids, teenagers and adults. Due to that work I have experiences with handling new groups of people, getting them to feel comfortable with each other and with handling expectations. I have worked in this field for the last 4 years. In regards to how much I currently play. I have, over the last three years, had 1-2 weekly games and at times even 3. Two of them were with friends my age and one with teenagers from one of the theatre groups. My motherlanguage is german, but I should know my way around an international group. If need be I can also talk gibberish.

How Jonathan runs games
I focus on the enjoyment of the players and will lean into whatever ideas and stories they want to bring to the table. There will be roleplay, combat, exploration and a lot of "uhm yeah, that´s a cool idea. Lets go with it." The following list will encapsulate the mindset that I bring to the table: 1. I don´t take myself or the game too seriously. We are here to have fun. 2. I prep my games and have a lot of fun doing that, but at the table I am at the mercy of my own disability to stick to a plan. I run a rather improvised game and involve my players actively in shaping the story and the world of the game. 3. If I feel like the story is missing something I wont hesitate to ask the players for their ideas. 4. Rule of Cool. 5. I don´t like to gatekeep information about the world or story too much. Therfore I will rather reveal too much and have it be the players job to differentiate between player knowledge and character knowledge. 6. I will mostly play theatre of the mind, unless I feel like the table is down for tactical combat. 7. No complicated VTTs. As said I will mostly play theatre of the mind and players will be responsible for their own characters. I will facilitate pregens or maybe a Google Sheet to share digital character Sheets. (This is because I my brainload can´t handle managing a VTT)

My games focus on...
The enjoyment of the table. No prep, NPC or rule will come in the way of that.
I once ran a session...
Late at night in a forest with my friends. It was getting really dark and we had to complete the session while riding on our bikes. Only stopping if an important roll had to be made.
I prep by
1. Write up a loose outline of what I think will most likely happen. 2. Specifying the details of the more complicated situations. 3. Hoping for the best and sacrificing some chocolate.
Jonathan's ideal table
I have an open table for people who are new to TTRPGs and for veterans. As long as you bring cool ideas and don´t block the ideas of other players we will get along.

My table is not the place for...
Rules-Lawery discussions. I rather just rule in favor of the PCs and don´t care for the finest details.
I think it's a red flag when players...
Say "well actually" too much.
I love it when a player
Embraces failure as much as success and dares to take risks. We are here to TELL a story and not WIN a game. Eventhough it is a game, but still. Failure is hilarious.
