About me
I'm a UK-based professional Game Master, specializing in non-D&D tabletop games. My journey into hosting games began a decade ago with a peculiar game called Fiasco, played at a local board game club, and a mysterious Star Wars: Edge of the Empire core rule book I received for my birthday. I dove straight into GMing with little prior experience as a player. Today, most of my income comes from my work as a writer and facilitator for indie TTRPG projects with a Welsh youth-led focus. You can find some of my creations on itch.io, including Trickster's Net, Biosphere Guardians 2050, and Dwellings and Dragons. I also run a weekly teen tabletop club, where I've honed my craft for players aged 12-25. Studied International Politics, and very left-leaning inclusive gamer. Loves the cross-section of history and low-fantasy TTRPGs - Vaesen, The Dee Sanction, most GUMSHOE games.. Generally very wholesome Star Wars fan (save what you love etc...), shares LOTR love with family. Obviously, loves movie soundtracks.. First real book ever finished (at 11 years old) - Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn Last book finished - The Lost and the Damned - The Horus Heresy: Siege of Terra Book 2 - by Guy Haley
GM Style
Like most GMs, I've a theatre-kid background, which makes me comfortable with acting, voices and improvisation. I've a deep bass too, so come to me for authentic UK fantasy voices! I flirt between letting procedural structure in modern TTRPGs guide the action and story, and then throwing the rulebook out the window for the 'rule of cool'... depending on game and table. I like crunchy tactical combat up to a point - but it's best with lots of improvised ideas and interjections (like those created with the SW/Genesys narrative dice system), rather than endlessly just rolling-to-hit...
