About me
He/him • Compulsive LRPer • Video Game Developer • Voice Actor • Cheerful Goth • Doctor Who fan • Apologetically British I love storytelling. Particularly interactive stories, where your choices shape the outcome. It's why I got into making video games. But even with the unlimited possibilities of tabletop roleplay it can be hard for a character's tale to reach the closure they deserve; their happy ending, or tragic fate. That's my goal - help you tell the tale of your character and create memories to cherish. Join me and let's shape a story to remember. If you're new to role-playing, I can help you find your feet - and if you're an old hand, I'll give you the freedom (or structure) to explore. I started roleplaying (both tabletop and live) at university in 1993, playing AD&D 2e, Amber, Cthulhu, Vampire, Mage, Cyberpunk, Dark Conspiracy, and many more. I was elected President of the student Role-Playing Society and helped overhaul the LRP system we were using. I've written LRP adventures, crewed professional events, run tabletop campaigns remotely and in-person, for kids and adults, played in charity livestreams, hosted interview podcasts and presented talks at game development conferences. It's all stories, in the end. Let's make you a good one.
GM Style
I favour narrative play, exploring character arcs. I like simple systems that put story first. I'm not averse to a bit of crunchy combat when appropriate though! I like to give players opportunities for character turning points - moments when they could pivot in interesting new directions, or power through with unwavering resolve. I like to ask players to describe the things that are important to them, to put their stamp on the world. I like to bend the rules to allow player ingenuity. I like drama, pure and simple.
