How Chance Russo runs games
I strive to create immersive and memorable experiences for my players. I believe that a successful game is a delicate balance between engaging storytelling, dynamic roleplay, and thrilling strategic narrative combat. When it comes to roleplay, I love crafting unique and memorable NPCs that bring the world to life. Each NPC has their own distinct personality, traits, and voice, allowing players to truly interact and engage with the world around them. In addition to roleplay, I also appreciate the strategic and technical aspects of combat encounters. I believe that combat should be more than just a series of dice rolls; it should be a dynamic and engaging experience that challenges players to think strategically and make tactical decisions. I enjoy running encounters that require players to to utilize their abilities, work together as a team, and adapt to changing circumstances. Overall, my GM style is a blend of immersive roleplay, unique NPC traits and voices, and tactical combat. I want my players to feel like they are part of a living, breathing world where their choices and actions have real consequences. Whether it's through engaging storytelling, memorable characters, or thrilling combat encounters, I aim to create a gaming experience that leaves a lasting impression. Currently I am running the following Campaigns: Dungeons of Drakkenheim Dragon Heist Rise of the Drow Icewind Dale - Rime of the Frostmaiden Greyhawk - West Marces I have run these campaigns and can run again: Tomb of Annihilation Empire of the Ghouls Descent into Avernus Dungeons of Drakkenheim Dreams of the Red Wizards Dragonlance

I deal with rules issues by...
allowing the players to look up the rules and sharing with the group. This helps them learn the rules and I try to always go RAW (Rules As Written). However, when the narrative allows for "outside the box" rulings then we go with the story over rules.
My games focus on...
the characters and how they experience the world allowing them to shape their own destiny and tell their own story within the framework of the campaign.
Rules are...
there so that everyone knows what to expect and where they stand. They are important to give structure to our game and world and as a baseline for play. However, they are always secondary to story. The narrative rules is the golden rule.
Chance Russo's ideal table
I love a table where everyone shares the spotlight and plays as a group during roleplay and in combat. I am here for the players and I believe in giving them space and adapting to their actions. I maintain a very friendly, open, and respectful table where everyone becomes friends and together we become a family.
