About Boonyawee
I have been a DM for about 8 years. I have finished multiple campaigns with my friends. I mostly run lighthearted games without much dark themes or stress. I can run many themes such as anime, fantasy, modern, low-magic, and sci-fi. I prefer not to plan too much for my games and mostly plan according to player actions. My DMing style for D&D also tends to be a bit homebrew for monsters and the DM side of things, while keeping the players grounded in the rules. For example, monsters might have weird abilities. I generally prefer the "rule of cool." For other games, however, I try to be more strict with the rules. I am most comfortable with 3-5 players, depending on how much the players like to roleplay.

When I'm not running games I'm...
I read other resources, research, and collaborate with my players to improve my games. Other than TTRPGs, I also enjoy a wide variety of games and genres such as detective games, story focused gacha games, visual novels, and Souls-like games. Lastly, I enjoy watching movies and going out from time
How Boonyawee runs games
Depending on which system I run and what players are looking for, I am quite flexible in my DMing style. However, I mostly run the game by the book and expect players to play by the rules. When a rule isn't clear, I give the players the benefit of the doubt. On the other hand, as a DM, I tend to bend the rules or sometimes change them to make a better experience for example, making a boss do a special attack at the end of the turn, after giving players a warning. I tend to ignore rules that cause the game to slow down or require heavy bookkeeping, such as counting the number of bullets/arrows used (SR5e/D&D 5e), or having players keep track of the weight of their equipment. I like to keep smaller battles quick and simple and focus on the boss. So, unless I play with a pre-made module, I mostly avoid random encounters. I love roleplaying, so my game will have quite a bit of NPCs talking to players. I am also open to players giving suggestions, whether regarding the story, gameplay, or my DMing.

Rules are...
Rules are suggestions and guidelines; they are not the end all be all for the game. However, before we can break the rules, we have to understand them first
Boonyawee's ideal table
My ideal table is one that communicates. Whether you prefer highly tactical combat or roleplaying, I am ready to adapt to your preferences, as long as you talk to me and other players about what you like or dislike
