About Benjamin Sturge
Hi, I’m Benjamin Sturge - a lifelong tabletop gaming enthusiast and passionate Dungeon Master. I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons since I was 12, and for much of that time I’ve been behind the DM screen, crafting worlds, guiding stories, and helping players of all ages and experience levels find their place at the table. I love sharing this hobby because D&D is more than just a game - it’s a chance to unleash your imagination, develop teamwork and social skills, and be part of a creative, like-minded community. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of running games for a diverse range of players, including those with ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, and other neurodivergences. My goal is always to make every table welcoming, inclusive, and fun. Outside of the gaming world, I hold a B.Sc. in Statistics and Economics and an M.A. in Economics from Memorial University. My professional background includes work with universities, non-profits, private businesses, and government. I also have experience as a tutor, which has honed my ability to teach, encourage, and adapt to different learning styles - skills I bring to every session I run. Whether you’re brand new to D&D or a seasoned adventurer, I’m here to help you create unforgettable stories together.

I got started GMing...
For my love of the game, and due to the small amount of things available to entertain me growing up in a rural and isolated community.
People are always surprised when I tell them
They can't make twenty attacks in one turn at level one.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Creative, Detailed, and Funny.
How Benjamin Sturge runs games
My style is a mixture of deep storylines, tactics-heavy battles, role-playing heavy social interactions, and well-developed world-building. I have been writing my homebrew adventures and storylines for years now and I am sitting on hundreds of pages. I like to share my stories with people, create an experience together, and provide an adventure that cannot be found anywhere else. We will make use of maps, tokens, art, and other aids as we play. Play will take place utilizing Roll20 for maps and tokens and DnDBeyond for characters. I prefer maps and tokens to the theatre of the mind. I have a Pro tier subscription with Roll20 and a Master tier subscription with DnDBeyond.
