About me
I push pixels by day as a UX Designer, and my evenings are filled with fantasy and gaming. I have been an avid gamer most of my life, and have been playing D&D for going on 22 years, both in person and online. Over the years, my homebrew world has been the setting for countless adventurers - all with their own rich histories that have been woven into the world. I love having a group of people come together and tell a story - that's why I play.
GM Style
I am a mentor, educator, and storyteller by trade - and that translates very well into running roleplaying games. I am inclusive, and make sure that everyone at the table is heard - we're all telling a story together. In my games, we'll build characters together in a session 0 - finding commonalities between your characters and ensuring a good mesh in and outside of the game. Almost all of my games are homebrew in my own custom world. You'll have access to a private Wiki with deep information about the world, including the geography, deities, important figures, and more. I am more than happy to bring your ideas into the game and make it a part of my world for all of its adventurers. I lean pretty heavily into roleplay and lore - my balance is probably 50/30/20 roleplay/combat/lore. I encourage creativity from all of my players and prioritize good roleplay and story over combat effectiveness.

If there is one word to describe The Bard of the North as a GM, well, really there are many words, but the first one that comes to mind is patient. As someone who has only started playing D&D in the last few months, The Bard has been nothing but patient and helpful when it comes to understanding what was previously a very intimidating game. He is always willing to listen to your ideas, talk through them with you, talk about what would work and what could stand to change. If something doesn’t quite fit, he wants to get down to the bottom of “What are you trying to achieve?” and through that discussion, a lot of progress is made consistently. My favorite moment has absolutely been his RP of my character’s mentor in our current campaign. He is very big into roleplay and lore/background of your character, and in talking about my mentor, we spent nearly an entire day RPing back and forth and by the end of that day, we had an origin story. It was fun, engaging, creative, and comprehensive. I think anyone who has a casual and flexible playstyle would absolutely enjoy playing with The Bard of the North as your DM/GM.
