About Alex Lantz
đŻď¸I run slow-burn folk horror D&D games set in small, isolated places where something is wrong, even if no one will admit it. My games are grounded and clear. I like to guide players through environments using 3D maps, pictures and ambient sounds, so you always understand where you are, how spaces connect, and what surrounds you. Youâre not just being told about a place - youâre inside it. đď¸ My tables are roleplay-heavy, focused on atmosphere, character interaction, and meaningful consequences rather than performance or spectacle. When combat happens, it means something has already gone wrong. đď¸You are not heroes passing through - you are part of a place that existed before you arrived.

How Alex Lantz runs games
My tables are deliberate and focused. Thereâs space to think, ask questions, and decide what matters. I donât rush scenes or interrupt player roleplay, and I make sure everyone has time in the spotlight. I focus heavily on immersion, guide players through locations using 3D maps in real time, supported by visuals, ambient sound, and music. The goal is to make the world feel present - something you move through, not just imagine from a distance. I run rules mostly as written, but adapt them when needed to fit the situation, logic, or physical reality of the scene. If you describe what youâre trying to do and how youâre doing it - whether itâs talking your way past a guard or trying something unusual - weâll resolve it in a way that makes sense within the world.

I make quick rulings during play to keep things flowing. If a rule needs clarification, weâll review it after the session and apply it consistently in the future.
Alex Lantz's ideal table
This table works best for players who: - enjoy folk horror and grounded, atmospheric stories (e.g. Over the Garden Wall) - like rural settings, small communities, and closed societies - are interested in mystery, investigation, and piecing things together - are comfortable facing consequences rather than looking for optimal outcomes - enjoy talking to NPCs and learning about each other - like discussing plans and making decisions together as a group - want to collaboratively shape the story through their choices
