About me

Hey there, I'm Aeary, a writer and game designer from Ireland. Given that DMing lets me enjoy both my passions at once, it tends to be something I love doing. Getting to craft a dynamic story punctuated by unique and perilous combats is a joy that keeps me coming back to TTRPGs. I've exclusively DM'd over Foundry VTT, and as such, have years worth of my own maps, items, enemies, features, and more. I take a lot of pride at the level of polish my sessions hold, and hope you'll find the stories I tell just as well made. I don't run pre-written modules, but I do spend a lot of time working with players to ensure their characters are as fully realised as possible, both in terms of their narratives and mechanics. If you're willing to create something you'll love—even at the risk of losing it—I'd love to have you.

GM Style

You can check out some of my homebrew here: https://imgur.com/a/giUJ7De I would consider two aspects of my DMing to be quite distinct. The first is the level of presentation and digital immersion I take on Foundry VTT. Every street, shop, battlefield, flashback and path have their own maps and scenes; many of them made by myself in programs such as Dungeon Alchemist or Inkarnate. I like to create a visual representation for my players at every turn, as well as an interactive world they can explore. In addition, this makes my combats feel dynamic, when they can break out anywhere, or purpose built to suit a boss' mechanics, when the need arises. The second aspect of my work that I feel worth noting is the nature of the story and setting. My worlds aren't the kind to be populated by monsters, unless they are of humanoid creation, and my sessions aren't the kind to see you delving into dungeons. The enemies you face will be humanoids, and no fights must end in you taking the life of your opponents. My combats tend to be large set pieces, rather than multiple individual or random encounters, and every foe you've slain is a name you'll know and have chosen to end. In addition to the above, I also love designing homebrew. I've made subclasses that help bring a character concept to life, hundreds of items that let players dictate their own unique builds, and features which expand on the aspects of 5e they love most. I also work hard to ensure a player's character is both well integrated into the world and supported in their individuals arcs, often taking the time to write solo scenes or vignettes that I do in short individual sessions. If the above sounds like the kind of campaign you'd like to be a part of, I promise you won't be disappointed.
