About AdamPC

With over 30 years of experience in tabletop roleplaying games, I bring a deep love of classic systems and immersive storytelling to every table I run. My roots are firmly planted in old-school gaming—especially AD&D—but I also actively run and enjoy modern systems, including D&D 5e (2024). I have a strong preference for rich, lore-driven settings. When using established fantasy systems, I most often run games in Dragonlance or within my own original DireLands campaign world, both of which emphasize character-driven narratives, meaningful choices, and long-term consequences. In addition to fantasy, I specialize in darker, more atmospheric campaigns. I run a fully homebrewed cosmic horror setting using the In Nomine system, inspired by World of Darkness themes and infused with elements of Clive Barker and classic monsters. These games focus on moral tension, surreal horror, and unsettling mysteries. Whether guiding epic heroes or exploring the shadows of the unknown, my goal as a Game Master is to create memorable stories, collaborative worlds, and engaging experiences for every player at the table.

I got started GMing...

when I was in middle school with the Dungeons & Dragons 1977 Basic Set by John Eric Holmes. It began with my brother and sister as players and quickly spiraled out to every friend I have ever had. I ended up playing Advanced Dungeons & Dragons in middle school with a friend and I never looked back.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be

AD&D 1e, In Nomine, and my DL6 system. You can play any game with them, better in most cases than with alternate systems. As studios try to make a better version of D&D, I think they are missing the point—the system is always secondary. The shared experience is what matters most to players and GMs.

When I'm not running games I'm...

creating content online for Dragonlance, Star Wars, Dungeons & Dragons, TTRPG's, board games, video games, films and series. I have been creating online content since 2011 and genuinely love the engagement with fans over a shared love of an IP. Last year I started creating my own campaign settings.

How AdamPC runs games

My Game Mastering style is built around meaningful challenge and earned rewards. I enjoy putting players in difficult situations—tactical, narrative, and moral—and then letting their creativity, teamwork, and roleplay lead them to victory. Overcoming adversity should feel satisfying, and success at my table is always something you’ve worked for. Roleplaying is at the heart of my games. I encourage players to inhabit their characters fully, make choices that matter, and engage with the world beyond mechanics. NPCs react, stories evolve, and player decisions leave lasting marks on the campaign. Combat is an important pillar of play, and I work to keep it dynamic, cinematic, and purposeful. Fights are rarely just about reducing hit points—they reflect the story, the environment, and the stakes at hand. I place a strong emphasis on description and atmosphere, painting scenes through all five senses. Whether you’re walking through a torch-lit ruin, standing on a windswept battlefield, or descending into cosmic horror, my goal is to make the world feel alive, immersive, and unforgettable.

I prep by

understanding the setting and world first. Next I contextualize the characters in the world to aid with story development and immersion for the players. Then I flesh out the world with a three act structure for the campaign and session, focusing on bullet points so the players can guide the story.

My games focus on...

the player character in an immersive and responsive world. Whether we are in a fantasy, modern, or futuristic setting, the point of the game is always the shared story the players and GM are creating together. Every choice has a reaction and effects the greater world around them in some way.

Rules are...

guidelines that help adjudicate actions taken by the NPCs and PCs. However, rules are suggestions, & if the player wants to try something not outlined by them, I will always err on the side of the story and enjoyment rather than the RAW. This is a shared story that shouldn't be stifled by designers.

AdamPC's ideal table

My table is designed for players who want to live in their characters and leave a lasting mark on a shared world. I run immersive, character-driven campaigns where your choices matter—not just to your personal story, but to the setting itself. NPCs remember what you’ve done, factions react to your decisions, and the world evolves based on player action rather than a fixed script. I come to each session prepared, organized, and invested in telling a meaningful story with you, not at you. This is a collaborative experience where character motivations, relationships, and consequences are central to the game. Players who thrive at my table enjoy deep roleplay, thoughtful decision-making, and engaging with the world beyond combat encounters. Whether you are a seasoned roleplayer or newer but eager to invest in your character, you will fit in well if you respect other players, share the spotlight, and want to build something together over time. The general vibe is immersive and focused, with space for humor and camaraderie that naturally arises from the story. If you are looking for a campaign where your character truly belongs in the world—and where your actions help define its future—this table is built for you.

I am for a vibe that's...

fun, and funny, but that can roleplay, and be serious when the situation requires it. I see this as a game, but at times, an immersive one.

I love it when a player

is inventive and imaginative. Coming up with ideas for actions that are not always outlined by the rules, but that are true to the situation and character.

My table is not the place for...

rules lawyers and hard core min/maxers. I focus on character immersion and developments over precise builds. If you want a 'by the rules' game with no room for extrapolation of inventiveness, this is probably not the best table for you.
