About Adam
I've been playing DnD 5e since I was in highschool (9 years ago.... I feel old) and slowly but steadily settled into the role of DM. My favourite module in D&D is the Curse of Strahd. My favourite type of players are those who invest in roleplay and think outside the box to solve both puzzles and combat.

I got started GMing...
No one in my friend group wanted to. It was scary at first, but I eased into the role and now enjoy being the antagonist to great heroes. It feels good to be the bad guy, even better when they party manages to eek out a victory against the odds. Because despite being the BBEG I'm rooting for you.
My favorite shows/movies are
-The Truman Show (the best move of all time in my opinion) -A silent voice (a very heartfelt anime movie) - Corpse bride (because how could you NOT love corpse bride) -Attack of the killer tomatoes 2 (I have zero justification in liking it. I just do) - Pirates of the Caribbean (the first 3)
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
-Evil -Genius (usually combined with the first one) -Fair
How Adam runs games
I love rolepay heavy games, but never shy away from difficult and dangerous combat encounters. When it comes to my ruling style, I do it in terms of what makes sense and what the group agreed upon. I let players know in advance that i have the final say in how things are ruled, but am always open minded.

I once ran a session...
Right before a huge fight, the souls of all my party members got swapped. Mechanically I had everyone at the table swap character sheets with the person to their left. Why? Because I noticed they have distinct play styles and wanted to get them out of their comfortable zone and try something new.
My favorite trope is...
The "all my powers are gone" trope. To bastardize a quote from Tony Stark "if you're nothing without it, you shouldn't have it". He was talking about a suit, but I like to think of it as power. When the chips are down and their back is against the wall, who are our heroes really?
When it comes to voices
A can do a couple, I'm not a professional voice actor, but I have a few accents and mannerisms I can pull out to differentiate my characters.
Adam's ideal table
I will always love creative outside the box ideas. If you have a crazy plan to defeat the bad guys I'm all for it, will there be consequences? Probably. Will it work? Maybe. Will I entertain the attempt and see where it goes? ABSOLUTELY!

I think metagaming...
Is inevitable. You know the monster's stats, pretending otherwise is boing, so is steam rolling because you know their weakness. My solution? Reflavour things you don't instantly know what it is, and mix up combats and plot hooks to be less predicable. Still following the story, but not predicable.
I think min/maxing...
Perfectly fine. Nothing wrong with a string character. But be prepared to A) share the spotlight with your party and B) RP as hard as you min/max. And fyi, I'm not gonna target you, but if I can find a flaw in your build, you can bet some of the smarter enemies may exploit it.
My table is not the place for...
Politics, discrimination or being a dick to other players. We're here to play a silly dice game in make believe land. It's supposed to be fun. Let's keep it that way for everything, yeah?
