About Aaron
My name is Aaron and I'm a long time fantasy fan, RPG enjoyer and forever DM. When I was younger, I didn't have the benefit of modern technology or a circle of friends who enjoyed tabletop games, so I came to D&D later in life. As a college student with aspirations to be a writer (but pivoted to IT), It always fascinated me but I never found the opportunities to play. Fast forward to my move to the PNW and I found myself with an abundance of time on my hands. With what started as a one-shot for some friends at work (who went on to be my closest friends and family), I built my own setting. I was and have been fixated on just how enjoyable it is to create content and bring it to the table for my players to break. That is the short and sweet version of what drives me to tireless make content and run it for my players. It is addictive, fun and there is nothing else in the world quite like playing D&D. I have been a DM for over a decade now, I've run pre-written campaigns but honestly, I spend the bulk of my time writing my own setting. I'm also currently working to adapt Shadowrun to the Cyberpunk RED Interlock System. I'm an open-minded, easy going individual who believes to my soul that inclusivity and fun are the pillars D&D is built on. I genuinely hope we meet at the table and I get to share this wonderful game with you!

How Aaron runs games
I greatly enjoy writing Homebrew that is balanced against the design decisions of 5e. My players are quite experienced so I get a lot of joy from subverting their expectations in a fun and fair way. I fully believe that the fun of D&D is in the creativity in which a problem is solved, even if it challenges the rules as written. I am not a rules lawyer and I strongly believe that much like presented in Daggerheart, the interpretation of a mechanic is what matters most. We are trying to tell a story together and sometimes, the story calls for a bending of rules. That being said, being an avid gamer, I like mechanical dungeons, big encounters and epic scenery which are the kinds of things I tend to create. I would think that players who enjoy a dungeon crawl would enjoy my content. I welcome all types of players to my table and it is important to me for us to set expectations and to understand the type of game my players want before we start our first session.

I deal with rules issues by...
the situation and rule of cool. I'll always allow a player to explain what they are doing, how they they are doing it and how it would succeed. The idea of the rules is to tell a story and create cool moments, and if the dice allow it, I'll entertain it!
Aaron's ideal table
I do my very best to create an environment of ease and fun. I do make rulings that sometimes bend the rules as written in the spirit of fun and fairness. I'm a very inclusive DM and I encourage players to play the characters they want as long as it doesn't come at the cost of another player's enjoyment and agency. We're all here to have a good time, go on an adventure and have some snacks, if you're the kind of player that enjoys a more laid back table, I believe you'll find yourself right at home.
