About Furkan "Fork" Kaya

People call me Fork. Since I was a mere child, I have read most of the books of Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Ravenloft, etc. I was introduced to D&D when I was seventeen, and since then, I’ve been DMing for ten years (I’m a forever DM :D). I love creating scenarios, NPCs, regions, and so. Being a DM is a wonderful proficency because in this way I can have my players feel many diffirent emotions and possibly discover themselves. So, I honed my skills to the utmost over the years. I only hope to show my skills to some enthusiastic players and create some good memories with them.

How Furkan "Fork" Kaya runs games

Over the years I have created many different scenarios and settings. And now, I have accomplished my dream of creating a living continent where you can be anybody (other continents are on the way :) Players are always the main characters in the game; therefore, as players continue to play, the continent grows and expands around the paths that the players take. In this way, players are able to experience the game as they please. A combat-heavy game in which players slay many different foes or an RP-heavy game in which players opens their way with their smart words can be an example to this. This campaign is about how you play the game. There are many different types of scenarios, main quests, and side quests. It is a sandbox game, so wander around the world after your own heart. The most important thing for me as a DM is to see my players connect and emphasize with their characters (don't worry if you can't do it right away. You will get used to it in time). I mostly let my players create a character with anything they want. If you want to play a rich person with a royal backstory or an orphan who tries to accomplish big things with nothing in hand. The catch is that you must carry the burdens of the characters that you create. There may be another rich person who tries to kill you for your fortune or you may deal with hunger all the time because you are a poor orphan. I wish my players to embrace their roles and feel the challenges and accomplishments that your characters will go through. So, I let my players become anybody they want in the game. The only thing that you cannot do is disturb other players’ experiences. You can have problems with a party member or want something that goes against the whole party’s decision; it is okay, as long as nobody becomes toxic and everybody remains friendly (Don’t forget that it is only a game).

I deal with rules issues by...

deciding on what makes the most sense according to that situation and the level of fantasy.

I once ran a session...

so awesome that players cried, laughed, got angry and bit their fists because it was so awesome.

My games focus on...

Character development and epic moments.

Furkan "Fork" Kaya's ideal table

In my table, we mainly focus on the game and stay in character. Of course there are times we joke around, as long as it doesn't go overboard to trolling. I try to include every player in the game even though current story arc is not completely about them. I create personalized stories for each and every one of the players meshed into the current story line the party follows. There is a moment for each character to shine. All my players need to do is to show that initiative and shine in the moment. At any given time without doing metagaming, your creative ideas are welcome as long as you don't interrupt another player's action. It's always alright to discuss your ideas, though I prefer it to be in character. As long as players are not passive all the time and try their imagination in any way possible, they will fit very well and have lots of fun. Though it's not forbidden to stay passive. I'll still find a way to awaken my players' roleplay spirit ;)

I love it when a player

is using imagination and being creative with their toolset. Even though rules say one thing, if their idea makes sense and is fun enough, it's fine by me.

I think metagaming...

is wrong, and I don't allow it. Just play with what your characters know. Otherwise it breaks immersion.

My table is not the place for...

players who meddle with other players' turns out of character. As well as act toxic out of character. As long as you play your character and leave your person out of your roleplay, you are fine. Otherwise my table is not for you.
