About me

Hi! I'm Jono. I am a budding GM. I have been playing ttrpgs for 25 years. I have been GMing off and on for just as long but now I'm finding myself GMing more often because I really love telling stories. I cut my teeth on Palladium and 2e D&D when I was growing up. I really like a style of adventuring that provides challenges for the player outside of direct combat. Although fast paced combat is still very fun! I really love collaborative story building and prefer to bring in player input whenever possible. These aren't just my worlds. They will be our worlds that we will build together. Like most gamers, I started with D&D. I enjoy playing 5e. My favorite system to play is Dungeon Crawl Classics and all of its associated settings. My goal here is to learn to be a better GM, support my hobby, and have lots of fun while meeting cool new people! I encourage anyone to come play! My table is LGBTQA+ friendly and I welcome players of any experience level. Never played the system? Never even played a ttrpg before? That's TOTALLY awesome! I will teach you how to play and coach you if you're having problems playing. I prefer to run things in theater of the mind because it's just plain easier to not worry so much about things that slow down he action. But I will use VTT tools for dice rolling and visual aids. In my personal life, I am a PhD student with a focus on planetary and environmental geochemistry. I am also currently writing and designing adventures and game systems. Come play games with me and we'll build amazing worlds together!

GM style

I love classic adventuring using modules and one shots. I also love open world adventuring where we get to come up with the story on the fly. Story telling that is collaborative is very important to me. I want my players to be invested beyond their character.
