About the adventure

Have you ever wanted to be part of a mythological adventure? Slaying monsters, commanding armies against impossible odds, destroying cults, learning magic, being the champion of a god - or refusing to bow down to the fickle whims of a pantheon and rebelling against your destiny, battling demigods, fellow champions and being a legend of your own? Then this game is for you. "Thrilias: A Mythic Odyssey" takes place in the D&D 5E setting "Mythic Odysseys of Theros"; a setting that is heavily inspired the works of Homer. You will have the option to play as a champion to a god - someone who can advance the influence of your patron deity, or to refuse the gods of Nyx and attempt to forge your own path in the world. The game puts narrative at its center; focusing predominantly to the story of your characters, as well as the companions that you make along the way. It is a roleplay heavy game, rich with action, adventure, drama, fantasy, tragedy, and satire - all the ingredients to make a good myth! If you are a fan of Greek Mythology - ranging all the way from classics such as "the Iliad" and "the Odyssey", to more modern works such as "Percy Jackson & the Olympians", "the Song of Achilles" or "Circe" and have always wanted to tell your own story in such settings, then you will greatly enjoy Thrilias and the world of Theros. The world is packed with wonders, treasures, gods and monsters that will help you scratch that mythological tale itch you have always wanted to tell with a character.

About me

Hello! Nice meeting you! I am a writer, translator, a storyteller and a budding content creator. I have been into tabletop games for three years and have been running games professionally for about the same time. I'm pretty experienced when it comes to World of Darkness games, especially Vampire: The Masquerade, Hunter: The Reckoning and Werewolf: The Apocalypse, having run multiple games in these splats. In terms of D&D, it has been always a passion that I followed through one-shots and friend games, but I decided it was finally time to delve into the community and start running longer games. I'm well-versed in the system, and I dabbled in different settings within the multiverse. As a GM I'm generally a rule of cool guy who does his best to stick by the book for the most part, but I'll never stifle your fun - especially if you are about to do something absolutely rad. I'm your characters' #1 fan when you are at the table. If you have any questions before signing up to any one of my games, I'm always active on the website and would be more than happy to answer them! I hope you can find a game that you can enjoy on my profile. Looking forward to meeting you!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will go over character creation during Session 0 together so we don't end up making an all Bard campaign without talking to each other first. Roll20 is where we will be storing our character arts, sheets, maps, and tokens. You are not expected to create your character sheets beforehand, but I expect you to give me a concept idea in your applications as to what kind of a character you are forming in your head, and once we establish everything, you will need to write me a brief but detailed backstory about the characters so I know them a little better and can micro adjust the campaign to include what you wrote for your characters. Once I have a backstory, we can work on the sheet together!

The current party

- As a GM, I enjoy games that lean more into a linear style of story telling; with one thing leading to another. The lands of Theros are yours to explore in a sandbox-like experience, and I'm always willing to stretch and bend my story so you can fully enjoy what the world has to offer you; but it is important to remember that your actions will be remembered and have consequences, and the story will eventually catch up with you. - One more important note: I put more emphasis in character growth, stories and development rather than dice rolling. I understand the magic math rocks are very pretty and we all love to roll them, but I always prioritize the narrative, and I like the rule of cool without going overboard. So, if you are expecting a game of only dice rolling, combat and minimum roleplay - I respect your choice, but I'm probably not the right DM for you. If you enjoy creating a collaborative story at the table and like to see your characters grow and change over time and roleplay with myself as well as your fellow players, then look no further! - Please include a brief introduction for yourselves and what kind of character you are hoping to play in the setting when applying for the game. You can also shoot me a private message if you'd like to go further into detail about your character.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

🎤 A decent microphone is a must. 📷 Cameras are optional, but highly encouraged, as I believe seeing each other enhances our roleplay. 🔊A Discord account (free to register). 🎲 Roll20 account (for the table and dice rolls. Also free to register). 📄 Detailed but brief backstory (1 to 3 pages should suffice). 🎓 Beginners are welcome; I will explain the rules and the system as we play, should need be.

How Onur Temel creates a safe table

We will hold a Session 0 to go over all the content warnings, as well as all of the possible Lines and Veils with a detailed Consent Form you can fill, in order to create a safe, welcoming table. Everything is changeable and negotiable; they will all be discussed and taken out of the game accordingly if any one of those stated below make you feel uncomfortable. I will send a consent form where you can write down any potential topics that you may be uncomfortable with. We will also use Session 0 to establish the boundaries between the players, as well as the relationship of their characters and of course, decide on what kind of a story we want to tell in Theros. Before the start and after the end of every session we'll spend about 15 minutes at least to chat, talk about any potential issues, to go over what happened in the story to identify Bleed and to help you cope with it and leave it behind at the table! As far as X, N & O cards, you can simply message me during play with either of these letters in bold font and in caps, and I will appropriately handle the situation.
