About the adventure

This campaign is a quirky, roleplay-focused Dungeons and Dragons 5e campaign that is fun, fast-pasted, and fanciful! Fun for all ages, this campaign is a great introduction into Dungeons and Dragons and can be played in a variety of ways. With an emphasis on roleplay and story progression, this campaign is not very combat-focused. Here is more information about The Wild Beyond the Witchlight from Dungeons and Dragons themselves: "SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES A wickedly whimsical adventure for the world’s greatest roleplaying game. Once every eight years, the fantastic Witchlight Carnival touches down on your world, bringing joy to one settlement after the next. Its owners, Mister Witch and Mister Light, know how to put on a good show. But there’s more to this magical extravaganza than meets the eye! The carnival is a gateway to a fantastic Feywild domain unlike anything found on the Material Plane. Time has not been kind to this realm, however, and dark days lie ahead unless someone can thwart the dastardly schemes of the Hourglass Coven. The Wild Beyond the Witchlight takes adventurers from the Witchlight Carnival to Prismeer, a Feywild domain of delight, and is designed for characters of levels 1–8. This book comes with a poster map that shows the carnival on one side and Prismeer on the other."

Additional Details

How to prepare

No webcam required. Mics are always required. Please familiarize yourself with at least the basic rules of Dungeons and Dragons 5e before we start, but you by no means need to be an expert. These rules can be found in the D&D 5e Player Handbook or online. If we choose to play via OMM, OMM will need to be installed. I will then invite you to the OMM server. If playing via Discord, please have Discord installed and I will invite you to your own custom game server where we can share memes, character art, and discuss the schedule. Please have your own dice, whether digital or physical. Please have access to your character sheet, whether digital or physical.

What I provide

I am bringing dice (though not very many extras), maps, the campaign book, and pencils (if in person). If playing through OMM, I will design all levels beforehand to create the most immersive experience possible. If playing through Discord, I will create a custom game server for us with a variety of useful channels. Once Session 0 is done, if you would like a professional illustration of your character, all players playing with me get a 30% off discount on any commission from me of your choice. I specialize in Dungeons and Dragons Reference Sheets, character illustrations, and concept art. Gameplay details

Session 0: In Session 0, we will get to know each other, build characters, and discuss boundaries, triggers, and expectations for gameplay. Lines and Veils, Luxton Technique List, and Consent Checklist: During Session 0, I'll send a link to everyone to a survey of all potential triggers and a free space to list any hard boundaries or soft boundaries you'd like to make me aware of for gameplay. X, N, and O Cards: When playing online, these cards are messaged via discord or I am alerted to them via OMM Breaks, Bleed, Aftercare, etc.: Your happiness playing the game is the most important, and all breaks during session will be respected, even if only one person needs to take a break for any reason. There will be a brief aftercare discussion after every session to make sure everyone is happy, had fun, and is going for some great self-care after if need be!

How will character creation work

There are a variety of options for character creation. D&D Beyond is a great tool, and I accept all character sheets made through this platform. Dungeon Master's Vault is also a great tool to use, or you can use Roll20. Curse of Strahd can have up to 7 players and the base level of characters is 3, but we can do an intro session to get level 1 players up to level 3 if so desired. We will be creating all characters together in Session 0 so that everyone can get familiar with other characters, their roles in the story, and how everything will flow.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
