About the adventure

In the wake of the Fire Nation's recent aggression and successful war strategies, the people of the Fire Nation have been subjected to a sort of cultural stupor; their history is presented to them as perfect and moral, scrubbed clean of all potential wrongdoing. As a result, they become far easier to convince to aide in their military industrial complex. You find this reality to be despicable, and with the help of a few allies, tried to steal a scroll of undeniable truth about the Fire Nation's history; and failed! But you can't rot away in this prison forever, and the celebrations of the Fire Lord's coronation are the perfect opportunity to plan your escape. Avatar Legends is a new Avatar: The Last Airbender table top role playing game! This one-shot adventure is designed to learn the ins and outs of creating a character (With the quick start guide) and then playing that character in The Forbidden Scroll, the provided adventure module. You may generate your own characters, or choose to pilot pregenerated characters; by the end of the session, you will have the skills necessary to play the system when the full ruleset is released!

How to prepare

You will need a microphone, an optional camera, a Discord account, and two six-sided dice. Things that are not mandatory but would make your life easier include: A method for keeping track of your character's Balance stat, a method of keeping track of Fatigue, and a method of keeping track of Statuses.

What I provide

A thorough understanding of the Avatar: Legends rules as published so far, and the ability to run the game! This system is particularly light when it comes to preparation, we will all be building the story together.

Gameplay details

There will be no themes present in this adventure that would not be appropriate for Nickelodeon to air in an episode of Avatar; but in the event that a theme needs to be addressed, we will be using the Full Deck safety tool to ensure that nobody is left out or uncomfortable.

How will character creation work

WE WILL BE MAKING CHARACTERS TOGETHER! Unlike other systems you may (or may not) be familiar with, aside from a character concept, characters for Avatar: Legends are intended to be designed as a whole. This is to create a cohesive group environment, and to allow each player to build a story off of one another. Additionally, the whole point of this session to learn to play the game, and that includes becoming comfortable with the system! If we need to have a session 0 dedicated only to discussing the system we will do so, but the quickstart guide has all the tools required to get going immediately!
