About the adventure

Protected by tumultuous winds and ruthless hailstorms, Fjordruun is a place few people visit and even fewer leave. This island continent, a vast landmass of neverending winters, is divided both by jagged terrain and economic disbalance. The most fortunate of nobility and arcanists, dwell upon hoards of stormphax, a priceless crystal formed in the midst of storms, a pillar of Fjordruun's society. It gives power and longevity of life, vast arcane possibilities and influence over NTU's driving factions. It also gives hope for the misfortunate. It also takes away their lives when they search for it. Tell me now, adventurer, what brings you here, and what would you do if this "blue gold" comes your way? This is a homebrew setting where players make characters with backstories that tie them into this world, after which the first of many adventures start! The setting is filled with exploration and exciting locations, a vast number of NPCs, monsters and interesting combat as well as deadly intrigue. It has every aspect of the game. You choose which aspect you lean into, and where the story goes. I provide the consequences of your actions. Join me and let's see where this takes us!

How to prepare

Players will need a webcam and a microphone (preferably headset), a Discord app downloaded on their computers. They will have characters made and prepared beforehand.

Gameplay details

The game can be as light-hearted or as hardcore as players wish. From a children-friendly fairytale to an experienced wargamer. I talk to my players constantly and steer the game where everyone feels comfortable. The atmosphere around the table will be respectful and fun, each and everyone should be mindful of others and their boundaries. Any kind of behaviour that is contrary to being a nice, cultured and good person will be stopped. Content is in the boundaries of a good story but not pushing disturbing scenes for the sake of sensationalism. There'll be sad moments, happy ones, thrilling and exciting, chill and relaxing, frightening and unsettling. I run games where players are in character, thinking like them and acting like them. Players show their playstyle, I adjust and together we make a magical experience. Combat is tactical, with maps and tokens. Some are just in our minds. Some battles are peace of cake, some require a little planning, and some are just a run for your lives. Guess we'll see. I am patient with newcomers and encourage others to be as well (we were all beginners sometime in our life). I rule so you can have an epic moment jumping on the head of a hydra (which head that is the question?) or die spectacularly and have your name crossed off the board in a local tavern. I get technical when it's important for the story and throw all of it when needed. Before every campaign, there will be a session 0 (free) where we will meet for the 1st time and discuss all of these things and see where we stand. I'll be there, a captain of our adventure ship and I can't wait to meet my trusty heroes.

How will character creation work

Characters will be created via DnD Beyond where players will get a link to my campaign and all the content associated with it. I shall help players create characters via Discord. They will write a short backstory of their character which will matter and ground them into the setting.
