About the adventure

Note: This is a reboot of our ongoing Princes of the Apocalypse campaign, currently at level 9. Called by the Elder Elemental Eye to serve, four corrupt prophets have risen from the depths of anonymity to claim mighty weapons with direct links to the power of the elemental princes. Each of these prophets has assembled a cadre of cultists and creatures to serve them in the construction of four elemental temples of lethal design. It is up to adventurers from heroic factions such as the Emerald Enclave and the Order of the Gauntlet to discover where the true power of each prophet lay, and dismantle it before it comes boiling up to obliterate the Realms. Join me, your fair and humble Dungeon Master, as we undertake a journey that only the most cunning will survive! Note: this adventure is based on the Wizards of the Coast published campaign Princes of the Apocalypse. Although the basic premise, NPCs, villains, locations and dungeons remain largely unchanged, I've heavily homebrewed some aspects of the adventure to more closely align with my tastes and to allow for further adventures beyond level 12.

How to prepare

A mic, headphones and decent internet connection are required. Players are required to create free accounts for D&D Beyond, Discord and The Forge (our Foundry server host) if they don't have one already.

What I provide

Elemental Evil is played using Foundry Virtual Tabletop. We use Discord for voice/text chat. I'll provide a crash course for both platforms so that everyone is comfortable using them. We'll also be using Syrinscape Fantasy Player for mood and music and we also have the option to stream/record our games privately via Youtube for family and friends.

Gameplay details

Legendary tales and immersive roleplay or the thrill of savage combat? Humor and heroics or dire dungeon crawls in the dark? We can have it all, but I tend to focus on player preference and will always strive to tailor games to your liking. Beginners are welcome, but at least some familiarity and experience with D&D is helpful. The split between combat, exploration and roleplaying will be about even for this campaign. There will be a general emphasis on roleplaying at times during this adventure. I tend to include a fair amount of mystery and intrigue in my games and, of course, plenty of monsters and villains to contend with. Combat in Foundry VTT will be primarily of the tactical variety, so you'll be able to carefully plan your next move. However, in some situations I may call for combat using theater-of-the-mind (combat without tokens or maps). This game is for mature audiences. Please be kindly and patient with other players. I have zero tolerance for any kind of bias or bad behavior at my table. Safety tools and guidelines are offered and enforced.

How will character creation work

Once you're confirmed to play I'll invite you to our Discord channel, introduce you to the other players, and help you get set up for the game. We use D&D Beyond for character creation. Sourcebook material is available. Homebrew material requires DM approval. Multiclassing is allowed, with DM discretion in some cases.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
