Auril's Agony ~ A Rime of the Frostmaiden story ~ Level 1 ~ Queer Friendly
Dungeons & Dragons 5e on Discord, Roll20, Theater of the Mind
About the adventure
Ten towns is on the brink of ruin. The small cluster of towns in the highest north might not be of concern for the rest of the world but for the thousands of people living there, it is everything. It is their house, their home… their lives. Auril, the frost maiden has landed somewhere in Icewind dale, covering ten towns in an everlasting rime. No one knows why. All they know is that ten towns is on the brink of falling. And who knows how this might impact the world In this adventure, you will discover ten towns, the surrounding tundra, and the reghed glacier. You might protect the town and reveal the mystery of auril’s divine actions. Heck, you might become mayor! This campaign is designed to explore the gaming side of d&d. Resources are scarce and the environment is dangerous. The harsh, cold, white icewind dale form the perfect backdrop for a story about determination. Nevertheless you, the player, and the wonderful people of ten towns can give many colours and fun to the d&d artics. Within a half year, or +- 25 sessions I hope to tell this story with you. D&D is great, but nothing is more frustrating than a died-down campaign. As a professional DM, I’ll work hard to keep the game fair, the story engaging and the table fun. Trust me, each other, and we will have a great time.
How to prepare

What I provide
Hii! I am the playful bear, but you can call me Danny. For the past 7 years i’ve been a RPG-fan both as a player and a DM. i’ve told 100’s of hours of interactive stories as an immersive actor and game designer. To me it is the most beautiful thing in the world to immerse someone into a fantasy and make them feel something that might give perspective in the real world. And let’s not forget about having a whole lot of fun! Fun has many forms. Laughing or making someone laugh can be fun. Imagining something from scratch can be fun. Solving a puzzle, whether its a traditional, social or combat one, can be fun. Feeling tension and release can be fun. Overcoming a difficult challenge or odds stacked against you can be fun. Experiencing something new and learning can be fun. That is why I love RPG’S, there are so many unique ways to have fun in the format. It triggers a lot of human aspects that make someone happy. Working together, being imaginative and creative, expressing one's self. As a DM I see it as my duty to create an environment that sparks creativity. It is my job to help you express your creativity, especially if you think it is hard. It is my job to see what my players need and correspond accordingly. In my games I bring enthousiasme, knowledge of gaming and rules, openness and expertise in storytelling and complex NPC’s. And I embrace the chaos! Not everything will go as planned and that is okay, sometimes even great. It is the moments of surprise where the magic happens. I’d love to meet you at my table and have some fun together!
Rime of the frostmaiden is a bleek story about issolation and endurance that is heavily inspired by horror like the thing and mountain of madness. Ten-Town resorts to human sacrifces to please the gods. To convey the harsh environments NPC can drink heavily and curse. Many monsters like undead & abberations roam the lands. Body wounds and tentacles can be used in descriptions. Before the start of the campaign we will discuss lines and veils. Elements players don't want to interact with or want to fade to black too. If intens moment happen I will check if everybody is okay with continueing. At any time you can send an (X) if you are uncomfortable continueing with the scene. At the end of the session we will do a round of stars (Things you enjoyed) and wishes (Things you would like for next session). If there is no time left we will do the stars and wishes via text before the next session.
