About the adventure
Welcome to Strixhaven, where young (and old) blossoming students come to learn more about magic and its applications and history! Take courses in magical history, physiology, the arts and more! With a wide variety of jobs and extracurriculars to take part in while you're here, there is always something to do at Srixhaven! (Don't forget to study though!) Join your fellow classmates in a four year curriculum program and explore your interests and passions for all things magical in a (mostly) safe and secure environment! With 5 different colleges to choose from (Quandrix, Lorehold, Silverquill, Prismari and Witherbloom) you are certain to find a place here at the school! But something sinister is happening on campus, and despite all the excitement of a new school year and new friends welcoming you, a mystery is quickly unfolding and will draw you into magical drama and old secrets! What would a school year be though, without a little chaos? So sharpen your quills and crack your books on this magical adventure!

About me
Hey there, I'm Gnomes, and I'm super stoked you're checking out my page! I've been a DM for several years now, and honestly, it's one of my absolute favorite things to do. There's just something magical about bringing a world to life and seeing players dive into the adventure. While I definitely believe in the importance of the rules to provide structure, I also think the best D&D moments come from letting your imagination run wild. So, expect a game where the rules serve the story, not the other way around. For me, telling a good, engaging story is key, and I love weaving narratives that will keep you on the edge of your seat and maybe even tug at your heartstrings a little. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or brand new to the world of tabletop roleplaying, I'm always happy to have you at my table. I genuinely enjoy teaching the ropes and helping new players discover the joy of D&D. So, if you're looking for a fun, collaborative, and story-driven experience, let's roll some dice together!

Creating your character
We will create characters together during session 0, but have an idea beforehand if possible. We will use 2024 rules Core and Strixhaven for most content (other species are likely allowed but discuss first. No other expanded or third party content please) Starting at level 1, point buy or standard array for stats.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need a working mic, camera is optional. Discord and DnDBeyond accounts needed. Have a decent understanding of the rules already will help, but vast experience is definitely not necessary!
What Gnomes brings to the table
I will provide all necessary source material through content sharing on DnDBeyond and a Discord server to play through. We will use DnDBeyond Maps when appropriate and Theater of the Mind otherwise. I lean toward Rule of Cool but firmly planted in what's written as well. The goal is to have fun and tell a story! I will try to include audio/music but I'm still learning to incorporate all of that so bear with me! Beginners welcome!

How Gnomes creates a safe table
We will go over most content expectations during session 0 and discuss any major potential issues. I will also have a basic questionnaire to fill out about playstyle and such. Open Door policy. If anything comes up during a session, mute/camera off, send me a message, anything at all to get my attention and I will stop the session to address the concern right then.
