About me
Hi! I am Kristina. When I discovered actual play on youtube it became clear to me what TTRGs were all about. I was immediately hooked and now here I am! I cannot offer an encyclopedic knowledge of 50 years of lore but I CAN offer atmosphere and immersion and a few good laughs (or groans) along the way.

Creating your character
We will be using 2024 rules so please stick to species, subclasses, feats, spells, etc that are available for 2024. I will provide you with all official "Crooked Moon" campaign material for character creation. Including a DNDBeyond campaign link. No outright evil characters Characters will start at Level 1 For this campaign I would love for people to use the species and/or subclasses from the official campaign. They obviously fit better with the theme. However, you are free to use any from the Player's Handbook. Each player will choose a "Thread of Fate" for their character. (The list will be provided with the character creation materials) No Darkvision - If you choose a species that has Darkvision as one of its species traits then you may replace it with the "Resilient" Feat. There will be a comprehensive session 0, and maybe a session 0.5 if necessary, to go over character creation, party relationships, backstories, etc. Any work you do on your character's story before session 0 is always a plus! We will roll stats in session 0. Min/max (or not!) to your heart's content. This campaign is built to be very challenging *but* roleplaying moments will also have lasting impact on your character so keep that in mind. SIDE NOTE: I personally prefer narratively satisfying characters with flaws and imperfections. It is far more satisfying for me, both as a player and as the DM, for characters to be more than a set of mathematically optimized statistics.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will be communicating via Discord so you will need to join my Discord Server https://discord.gg/XHCCQbKHjX Feel free to send me a message when you arrive so I can get you set up. You will need a free Owlbear Rodeo VTT account https://www.owlbear.rodeo/ I will share the game link when we are ready to start. You will need a free DNDBeyond account for character sheets https://www.dndbeyond.com/ Once you join the adventure I will send you the link to the DND Beyond campaign for character creation. You will also need a good microphone and a dependable internet connection. Video is optional. We can discuss if the party wants to use video. My opinion is that video helps the party feel more connected.
What Kristina brings to the table
I provide my players with a safe space, an immersive story and a consistent schedule. I use background music and soundscapes to create immersion All materials for character creation will be provided on DNDBeyond I prefer "Rules as Intended" over "Rules as Written" and will do my best to always let "Rule of Cool" win. Absolutely no AI. I will be using all of the official artwork, maps and campaign material from Crooked Moon. Any additional material will be written by myself.
Homebrew rules
No Darkvision - Species that have Darkvision as one of their traits can take the Resilient feat as a replacement. Drinking a Potion is a bonus action. Administering a potion to another character is an action. Critical hits roll double the damage dice. Natural 1s may be subject minor Chaotic Curses as the GM sees fit. Insight and some rare Perception rolls are rolled by the GM (using your PCs modifiers) "behind the screen". This is a lovely tip from Deborah Ann Woll which allows for better immersion - you won't know if it passed or failed - your character will believe or disbelieve the info given and the player won't be able to second guess the roll. Grappling will use 2014 rules (a contested roll) I don't do any sexual/romantic themed role-play but if players want PCs to interact romantically they can decide between themselves provided they use Fade-to-Black.

How Kristina creates a safe table
It is important to me that games be friendly and open players of all flavors. I do my best not to actively trigger my players. There is no fun in that for either of us. This is, however, a folk horror campaign and will include a good deal of darker material. Please read the content warnings *thoroughly* before considering joining. If there items on there that are on your 100% no-go list, then this campaign may not be ideal for you. All content warnings will be discussed in Session 0. This will be your time to freely voice where your boundaries lie, what material you are comfortable with and where you draw a hard line in the sand. My games will NEVER contain any references to sexual violence. Period. Players wishing to engage in this sort of roleplay are simply not welcome. I do understand that sometimes things come up in games that create reactions you, or even I, weren't expecting. Players are always free to step away for a moment to have a breather or private chat with myself. These don't even have to be triggering moments. Sometimes emotional moments come along that also need a bit of space. At the end of every session I like to have a bit of a cooldown for everyone to be able to reflect on the played session. This can include reliving exciting moments, discussing interpersonal character relationships, resolving player issues, or even plotting and scheming. At the end of the day we are playing a game not having a therapy session, so I am obviously not going to force players to confront issues that are deeply triggering.
