About the adventure
The Witchlight Carnival has returned, bringing glittering lights, impossible spectacles, and a memory you have never quite escaped. You visited once, long ago, and something precious was stolen from you, and you realize that now you have a chance to reclaim it. The enticingly mysterious trail leads beyond the carnival’s cheerful tents and into the Feywild; it is a realm where fairy tales take root, promises carry unexpected weight, and beautiful things can be terribly hungry. Here, whimsy, emotion, and darkness share a table. A ridiculous creature may offer you a moment of genuine kindness, while a charming host takes unsettling delight in your fear. Joy, happiness, courage, sorrow - to the strange folk you meet, every emotion can be a fascination worth savoring. Expect peculiar friendship, dangerous hospitality, and mysterious bargains whose true price becomes clear much too late. There is wonder and beauty here worth protecting, even as you uncover what has gone wrong beneath its mesmurized surface as the tapestry unfurls. Our game will emphasize conversation, exploration, and unraveling mysteries together - but as always, violence is an option... You’ll have room to deeply embody your character, build relationships, and pursue creative solutions to unique and often reality-bending problems. A thoughtful question, a clever deception, or an unexpected kindness may accomplish as much as a drawn sword. Combat is possible, but choosing when to fight, and when to listen, is part of the adventure. Your character’s hopes, fears, and that something, you've been missing all along but never realized it until this moment, will give your character deeply personal reasons to follow the story wherever it twists. This game is for players who enjoy atmospheric fairy tales, curious characters, and a little unease beneath the laughter. Come ready to share the spotlight, care about your companions, and embrace moments that are funny, tender, or unsettling... sometimes all at once. You don’t need to know the Feywild before arriving. Discovering its strange customs is part of the fun. Just be thoughtful about what you promise, and to whom. My DM style is very free-form, and I normally run sandbox games for my other paid games. I enjoy getting into the box-sets and seeing where I can take the story with my own creative vision of the events while also staying true to the overall story arc of the campaign.

About me
I am a 30 year D&D veteran and Forever-DM for my friends and family. I have many, many books for 5th edition and access to just about every published module on D&D Beyond (and I'll take requests too if given a little time to read/prepare). While I'm willing to run any modules/campaigns out there, my passion is in my own homebrew world called Korentil (google it), which I've been developing for over 30 years with a fully fleshed out world history and canon which I fill with the adventures of my players over the years in a sort of never-ending story. I also draw many of my own world and battle maps. My strongest asset is my ability to improvise, which gives me the ultimate freedom in running my games in that I will follow my party along whatever storyline they want to go on. I have a vivid imagination and am able to pivot quickly from my script to accomodate whatever direction the party wants to take. I am an expert linguist, and use my cunning linguistic abilities in my descriptions to create immersive scenes for my players. I build NPCs into meaningful characters that your PCs will love, hate, or anything in between by their actions. I portray a living world to my players, and give them the clay from which to mold their grand adventures! Another of my strengths is my ability to DM for larger groups than others. 4-6 players is ideal and allows me to craft individualized story arcs which I incorporate into the campaign. The largest group of players I've effectively DM'd for was 12 players - although I'll admit the individual attention had to scale back to more group-oriented story arcs. In general, I would like to run my games on Fridays for maximum availability on my time, but I can run games on Sundays as well. Oh! and I almost forgot - I do NPC voices! Some of them are cringey, but darn if they aren't fun! :D I think that's about it! I hope you'll give me a chance and I look forward to helping you create your next great adventure!

Creating your character
Once you are accepted into the campaign on SPG, I will message you with Discord links, D&D Beyond links with my shared book library, and Roll20 VTT links. The Discord will have a Forum containing posts, which will have all the character creation rules/backgrounds/selections you need to know.
Party composition should be discussed on the discord, but we will work with any party compositions. This is a new campaign and I don't think anyone is locked into their characters just yet.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Know your character's personality and background. This is going to be a pretty RP-heavy campaign and we are starting at level one. Plenty of room for growth!
What Trevor brings to the table
I will provide you with links and resource to create and level up your character through the campaign. I will manage the NPCs, monsters, combat rulings, and dispute resolution as well as address any concerns you bring up during the campaign. Expect a welcoming table, friendly party mates, and a general desire all around to build an exciting, enchanting story of a group of close friends on a journey of re-discovery as they seek out their lost treasure.
Homebrew rules
Homebrew rules are on my Discord; they include maximizing healing when you drink a healing potion with a magic action; bowling over enemies smaller than you, body slam rules, "I know a guy" contacts rules to give the players a little extra room to wriggle out of a tough situation, and a variety of fun options for combat and roleplay.

How Trevor creates a safe table
Session zero we will go over my Discord community rules that provide safety for all of my SPG customers; I keep the document updated and require all new customers to post a reply acknowledging the rules, safety measures, and guidelines for being a contributor to the D&D community and at my table. I also keep an open door, and conduct check-ins during and after difficult scenes. If something becomes awkward or uncomfortable, let me know and we will adjust things to accomodate. I allow content of a sexual nature up to the PG-13 level, and will gloss over any situation beyond that with the classic "Fade to Black" mantra. This is a fantasy RPG not a sex call center. Relationships, even romantic ones are encouraged if they deepen or emphasize your character's story arc, but we must also be respectful of how awkward these situations become the table when a romantic scene escalates to sexual intimacy (hence, fade to black). Also regarding children in the story - I am all for rescuing the orphans and having consequences if you fail, but player-vs-child violence of any kind is a no-go zone for me as a DM. I am obligated as the DM to provide a world that is believable and dangerous, for all it's denizens. evil must exist for the adventurers to have opposition; the bad guys will use what's around them. Kids will fall victim - but the point of those situations is to bring the power of the scene home for the heros to right the wrongs, avenge the dead, stop the villain. I also use AI in my content creation for tokens, artwork, and to assist me with automating and speeding up my preparation time. If you are AI-phobic, you probably should keep scrolling. I spend a LOT of time prepping, writing, brainstorming with my AI assistant, and generating quality content, and it enables me to run a better table.
