About the adventure

Welcome to Delta Green. The setting will take place in our world, Earth, in February of 2020. You are going to be an agent of Delta Green whose task is typically to investigate strange things, cover up anything supernatural, and try not to go insane. This game revolves (typically) around horror and supernatural horror. I will be describing some things as they happen. If anyone feels it is too much, let me know. I do not go into full disgusting detail, but I will not shy from how things happen. Speaking of insanity, you can defer some of it onto your friends and family. Sacrifice your love and joy to keep future of humanity together. Who knows? Perhaps you will be one of the lucky ones who does not succumb to a grizzly fate. Do expect the game to be very X-Files and the first season of True Detective. This will take everyone from the start of the campaign with a simple module and then go straight into a three-part campaign and a conclusion. This is very Role Play based! Fighting will be rare, but it will happen... and it will be as scary! Do expect to take notes. You are all 'detectives' in a sense. I will certainly help out by trying to point out some clues, but not all. There will be plenty of ways to solve what is given. New players are welcome as are veterans! A lot of the content warnings might happen off-screen and will be alluded to. Never-the-less, the warnings are there.

About me

Greetings and Salutations! I go by Greg, or Rune. Yes, my avatar here is a dragon. I mean, it's Dungeons and Dragon! You need a dragon at all times. I have about eight years of running D&D games and two years of running PF2e. I have also delved into Call of Cthulhu, a few White Wolf games, and Paranoia. Usually, I run my games solely on FoundryVTT. I am now getting into Ember which is being made by FoundryVTT. My goal is to run a paid game using this. While I do love to run games, I also go to school for Computer Science.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will have a free Session 0 to make characters! I will have all of the materials to make character creation easy. As a group, we will make them together so that there is little overlap. While I would find it amusing that everyone came in with the same-ish character, it would not go so well for the group while in-game.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be connecting to my server for Foundry. Please ensure you have Discord, a Headset, and a Microphone. You do not have to download anything, but we will be using Discord for Voice Chatting.

What Rune brings to the table

I always attempt to try new voices for characters. It's fun! I want to have intense Role Playing scenes. Sometimes things will be chill, other times, scenes will be very intense. No fear though, you can take a moment to consider what to do until you say you do it. Time slows, but I will rarely, if ever, take back a move. If your PC mucks up, that can actually create more fun and interest instead of always just succeeding. At least one person will be taking notes. Some things will rely on remembering what has been going on for multiple sessions and notes are your key to making it work. Combat will happen, but not often. This is mirroring the real world. Getting punched is going to hurt, but getting shot? Getting flesh ripped off of you because of otherworldly horrors? Yeah, that's going to sting and potentially kill. Dying does not happen often, but combat is typically always considered lethal. If you are new to Role Playing, have no worries. I, and I am certain other players will all be helping you along. I do not expect the game to be on-par with professional games you might have seen on the web.

Homebrew rules

Homebrew Rules are not really great for Delta Green. For some rules, I am fairly lenient!

Safety

How Rune creates a safe table

We will discuss this in Session 0, our first session. I care more about how you, as players feel over the game. My mission, as the DM/Handler/etc. is to make sure that my players are having fun and not stressing for my sake.
