About the adventure
Renown follows you wherever you go. The commonfolk know your name, perhaps celebrating, perhaps fleeing, when you show your face in their towns. The tales of your deeds far proceed you, and you have worked hard for this level of fame. Through this effort, you have gained the attention of the dastardly God of Violence, Vorus. The violent trickster himself had a drink with you last night, which made the evening quite the blur. When you arise, you are in a mess hall with a handful of others. You are wearing a painted vest over your armor, a unique number painted in blood. Handsome and hungover, Vorus strolls into your barracks so to speak, and with a hearty voice says, "Oh, I'm so glad you're awake! We had so much fun last night, I thought we could continue." He lounges across the dining table, like a witch's cat. "Now, before you run out into the arena and start the fight," he purrs, "you'll have to decide..." Blood pools up from the floor, forming shapes that then form monsters. Hundreds on his left side, and a single hulking monster on his other side. "This or that?" ~~~ This game is a Homebrew world. I will provide the necessary details for you to understand the world, but as this is combat heavy, this will not be a particularly large lore dump. CONTENT WARNINGS: This one-shot is combat heavy. You may encounter things like: Blood, gore, death, murder, descriptions of mutilation.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello, hello! I'm Addigale, though I go by Addy. I've run countless games in mostly DnD, but in multiple other TTRPGs (some of which aren't even available on the dropdown list!) for the past almost 10 years. I have played DnD for even longer than that, just over a decade of time. I'm always itching to tell a story and to invite others into the process with me. I thirst for creativity and the arts, and have been a wearer of many hats. I've been a voice actor for longer than I've played DnD, have published my own TTRPGs, audio dramas, and short stories, all while now being a stay at home step-mom! I'm always making something, whether its a story, new campaign, or a drawing for my players. I love to make things easy for players to understand, and love to make lists, write out "cheat sheets", schedules, and pretty calendars for everyone to be organized and have a good time.

Creating your character
You can make your character sheet using: DnD Beyond: https://www.dndbeyond.com/en OR Dungeon Master's Vault: https://www.dungeonmastersvault.com/pages/dnd/5e/character-builder If you want to use a Homebrew Class or Species, please send the information to me first for approval. There are two ways to make your character statline: -Rolled via 4d6 drop lowest. If you do not like your first roll, you may reroll once and MUST keep the reroll. -Standard Array.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
If you do not have one already, please make accounts on: Roll20 Discord You will need these to join the Roll20 game and Discord server.
What Addigale brings to the table
I will provide the Discord server, Roll20, and music that I curated. We will embrace homebrew and Rule of Cool.
Homebrew rules
The Table Rules: - From the Brink: Being downed and brought back to greater than 0 HP gives you a level of exhaustion. - Potion Drinking: Drinking your own potions is a bonus action. Helping someone else drink is an action. - Flanking grants advantage. (Must be on opposite sides.) - Criticals Explode: On a critical hit, roll double damage as usual. If you roll max damage on any die, reroll that die. (Example: you roll 2d12 for a critical hit. One of those is a 12. Roll it again. If it's a 12 again, roll it again. Add all these numbers together for your damage.)

How Addigale creates a safe table
For one-shots, I do not hold a Session 0. But I do absolutely debrief. I will clearly state all content warnings aloud for each player. If any of these are an issue, they can easily be written out of the story for your comfort. We will be using the X, N, and O cards. These will either be typed in the public chat or DMed to my Discord if you would rather not be public about it. After the game, I will stay an extra 15 minutes for aftercare to make sure you are feeling safe.
