About the adventure
The camera pans up as the sun sets, casting long shadows over a small town. We see porch lights turning on, jack-o-lanterns being lit, and a darkness that fights back against these weak sources of light. We punch in on the wheel of a bike, card flapping against the momentum of the spokes, as a group of teens ride down the middle of a tree lined street. Their laughter pierces the quiet as their costumes get caught in the wind. Seems like there may be more tricks than treats this Halloween night. We cut to a silhouette standing between two nearby houses. Over their shoulder, we see them watch the teens ride away. A slight head tilt from this unknown entity strikes an ominous chord with our audience. Trouble has come to this small town. _______________________________________________________________ Join this Monster of the Week One Shot and go on a Halloween themed monster hunt! Build your Hunter, join our crew, and investigate a mystery before tragedy strikes! This game will run as if it is a TV special for a 90s/2000s procedural like Buffy, X-Files, or Supernatural! Together, we'll fill the roles of the writers room, lead actors, editors, and director. So get ready for your close up!

About me
Hello there! My name is Zach and I'm a professionally trained actor in Los Angeles who performs regularly in the area. Aside from this, I work with young audiences and students directing theater, running drum circles, and generally bringing them unique formats to expand their social and emotional learning. That said, I love playing D&D with people from all backgrounds and all experience levels, having run many games for people who have never even heard of table top role playing. So if you're totally new to this and overwhelmed (like we all were when we started), have no fear! I love sharing this game with people, and can have you rolling like a pro in no time! In addition to running games on platforms like this, I also DM every year at the adult D&D summer camp, Dungeons & Cabins! Here, I have worked alongside DMs such as Johnny Stanton, James Haeck, Danielle Radford, Mayana Berrin, Alec Lachman, Eliam Weinstock, Cate Osborn, Leon Barillaro, and Sammy Glicker. My biggest goal as a DM is to make sure everyone at the table is having fun and feeling safe. While adventuring has its fair share of dangers, sitting at my table doesn't. For custom bookings, events, and young audiences, visit my website: www.gameswithzach.com So let's hang out and tell a story together! Meet you at the tavern!

Creating your character
You will create your own character using a Monster of the Week Playbook. This process is really simple and can be done in just a few minutes. All it takes is reading the character outline and checking off the options that are most fun for you! I will be available to help as much as needed for you to have something that excites you.

How Zach creates a safe table
I'll send out a link to a survey that can be taken before we meet. There, you'll be able to let me know your favorite parts about and experience with TTRPGs. This will be beginner friendly! You will also be able to select certain topics that you would like to be completely avoided, or those you would like to be handled with care and sensitivity. I want to do everything I can to make a safe table, so we can all relax into the game and have as much fun as possible!
