About the adventure
You may one day rise to become a legendary aegis-bearer or even walk the golden, warded pathways of HAVEN alongside shattered gods and refugees from a thousand fallen realms—but yours is not such a beginning. Not yet. You were born in the Sanctuaries: a quiet, heavy-timbered settlement tucked deep within HAVEN’s interior, shielded by the ancient, humming wards that keep the outer void at bay. Here, in this constructed refuge built to shelter everything from fleeing mortals to bleeding deities, life is simple, slow, and measured by the rhythmic pulse of the barrier overhead. Perhaps you are a harvest-keeper, tending the strange, glowing crops that thrive under artificial starlight. A sanctuary cook, blending rations and alien spices to bring comfort to the traumatized. Or a perimeter guard, your steel drawn far more often to ease panic among terrified newcomers than to face the horrors that stalk the dark outside. You know the pulse of the Haven-ward. It hums like a low, comforting song through the stone foundations of your home. It glows softly in the twilight, reassuring every soul—whether star-born or mud-stained—that the otherworldly predators scouring the cosmos cannot reach them here. You’ve seen gods, stripped of their worshipers and weak as children, weep with gratitude upon stepping past the threshold. You’ve watched refugees from dead worlds sleep peacefully for the first time in centuries. But the pulse has changed. Now, the ward-hum stutters. The protective light flickers, casting long, unnatural shadows across the spires of the sanctuary. The brittle cold of the deep void—a cold that should never touch this soil—has begun to bleed through the air, frosting the edges of the sanctuary stones. Far beyond the perimeter, at the edge of the safe zones where light turns to obsidian dark, shape-shifting terrors gather in silence, waiting with terrifying patience. The great refuge is fracturing from within; the ancient horrors HAVEN was built to keep out have finally found a seam. Something unthinkable is pressing against the glass, and the sanctuary holds its breath. What was meant to be an eternal safe haven is failing. And so too must you.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello, adventurers! My name is Jason Richardson, and I’ve been immersed in the world of RPGs for the past 40 years. Early on, it became clear that my friends weren’t keen on stepping into the GM role, so I took the reins—and I’ve been behind the screen ever since! With over four decades of experience as a Game Master, I bring a wealth of passion and creativity to every game. Beyond RPGs, I also hold a degree in Illustration, which often leads to players asking me to draw or paint their characters. My approach to games is highly visual, making my sessions immersive and cinematic. I thrive on crafting player-centric, narrative-driven stories that engage and excite. Let’s make some unforgettable adventures together—bring it on!

Creating your character
Character creation will be done together at session zero. This will be done in the game and shouldn't take long at all, After this point in their own time, I will expect players to bring a character picture from any source or hand-drawn and a backstory. The character sheets will be present on a live Google Sheets document.
What to expect

How Jason Richardson creates a safe table
This Game contains elements of HORROR, Demons and supernatural themes; it also contains pseudo-religious elements with visceral combat description notes suitable for the faint of heart, this of course is tempered against comedic moments that always creep into most games. Blood and Gore are commonplace, SAFETY TOOL: In my games, the most important safety tool for your use is the Discord private message feature. I have been DMing weekly using DISCORD since 2016. That’s quite a lot of hours gaming and so far PM the GM seems to work. Also, note that I use an open-door policy so that anyone can leave or take a break from the game for their safety and well-being without being judged. All that is required is DM me just to say you need a TIME-OUT. and if there are any Big Issues that can be talked through honestly and respectfully between myself and the player. For my games, they go for 3 to 4 hours so having a short built-in break about halfway through is essential and is recommended to allow people to stay focused or for other needs like getting food/drink during this time.
