About the adventure
Welcome to Hadley’s Hope. Before it became a name whispered alongside one of humanity's worst disasters, Hadley’s Hope was a working terraforming colony on LV-426. Now something has gone terribly wrong. Communications are failing, people are disappearing, and getting off the colony may be the only thing that matters. In this **ALIEN RPG Evolved Edition** game, we'll play through the expanded **Hope’s Last Day** adventure included with the official Starter Set. You'll take the role of one of five pre-generated characters trapped in the final hours of Hadley’s Hope and experience a cinematic survival-horror story set in the world of *ALIENS*. Expect exploration, desperate decisions, dwindling resources, rising panic, and the growing realization that you may not be alone. This game is designed to be **beginner friendly**. You do not need any previous experience with ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game, the Evolved Edition rules, Foundry VTT, or tabletop roleplaying games in general. We'll learn the system as we play rather than spending the night studying a rulebook. I run a visual, story-driven game using **Foundry VTT**, and this adventure comes to life with the official Hadley’s Hope maps, characters, creatures, journals, and other integrated game material. The emphasis will be on atmosphere, exploration, character interaction, and survival rather than simply moving from one combat encounter to another. You already know what happened to Hadley’s Hope. The question is whether **your character makes it out.**

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi! I’m Michael, the Game Master behind The Iron Quill Guild Gaming Studio. I’ve been running tabletop RPGs for nearly 20 years, with experience ranging from classic fantasy and tactical dungeon crawls to horror, science fiction, investigative games, and narrative-heavy campaigns. I currently run multiple games every week across a wide range of systems, both online and in person. My online games make extensive use of Foundry VTT, along with custom maps, ambient audio, visual effects, handouts, and other tools designed to create an immersive tabletop experience rather than simply moving tokens around a map. My style combines strong preparation with player freedom. I enjoy memorable NPCs, mysteries, exploration, tactical combat, character development, and letting player decisions genuinely change the direction of the story. I’m comfortable working with both experienced players and people learning a system for the first time. Rules matter, but the ultimate goal is always the same: give the players a great night of gaming and make them excited for the next session. If you’re looking for a consistent GM who takes preparation seriously, shows up every week, and is invested in your characters and your experience at the table, welcome to the Iron Quill Guild.

What Michael brings to the table
I provide a fully prepared **Foundry VTT** experience with official maps, character sheets, journals, tokens, handouts, and visual scenes from the ALIEN RPG Starter Set, along with additional material when the game calls for it. My GM style is **visual, atmospheric, and story-driven**. I use ambient sound, music, lighting, and scene changes to help create tension and give each location its own feel. I like the game to feel active and immersive, not like everyone is just staring at a character sheet waiting for the next dice roll. I run primarily by the **Rules as Written**, especially while introducing players to the system, but I also believe in keeping the game moving. If an obscure rule comes up and nobody knows it immediately, I will make a fair ruling, continue the scene, and we can verify the exact rule afterward. ALIEN is not a game where every problem should be solved with combat. Investigation, exploration, teamwork, quick thinking, and knowing when to run are often just as important as fighting. I will give players meaningful choices and let their decisions shape how the story unfolds. Most importantly, this game is built to be **beginner friendly**. I will help with rules, character abilities, dice pools, stress, panic, and the other mechanics as they come up. You do not need to study the rulebook before joining. Show up ready to play. I’ll provide the rest.

Safety
How Michael creates a safe table
My games are generally pretty straightforward in terms of content. There may be combat, gunfights, swordplay, monsters, criminals, and characters getting hurt or killed, but I don't focus on graphic descriptions, gore, sexual content, or deliberately disturbing material. Most of the violence is presented at about the same level you would expect from a typical tabletop RPG, action movie, or video game. I don't use extensive formal safety procedures at my table. My expectation is that players communicate like adults, treat each other respectfully, and let me know if there is something specific they would rather avoid. If something comes up during play that genuinely bothers you, just say so or message me privately and we'll move past it. The goal is simple: have a good time, tell a great story, and make sure everyone at the table can enjoy the game.
