About the adventure

A captured warlock. A fortress under siege. An ancient demon clawing to get out. In the roaming swamp settlement of Urzin, panic has taken hold. Bol’bara, the town’s goblin elder and arcane protector, has been dragged away to Fort Venture by Dwendalian soldiers. But the empire has bitten off more than it can chew: Bol'bara’s capture broke a fragile spiritual tether, and the malicious entity she harbors is about to break loose. If she dies... or breaks under questioning... the demon takes the wheel. Step into the untamed wilderness of Eastern Wynandir in this fast-paced mini-campaign. You'll navigate shifting bogs, uncover pre-Calamity ruins, and infiltrate a hostile stronghold before time runs out. Format: 2.5-Hour Focused Sessions (6–8 sessions [biweekly]) Level Range: 1 to 3 (Fast, rewarding milestone progression) Experience: All levels welcome... character creation support included!

About me

As an instructional designer by training, I am deeply passionate about bringing players into this incredible hobby and making tabletop roleplaying accessible to everyone. I pride myself on breaking down the aspects of D&D that can feel intimidating or confusing... providing them in manageable, bite-sized pieces so you can focus on the fun without the overwhelm. My ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between complex game systems and great, collaborative storytelling. Whether you are stepping up to the virtual table for the very first time or you are a seasoned veteran looking for a highly supportive environment, I work hard to ensure every player feels confident, empowered, and ready to shine from session one.

Character creation

Creating your character

📚 Allowed Books & Character Options The Core Engine: We are strictly using the 2024 Player's Handbook rules for character creation options (species, classes, and backgrounds). Supplemental Material: Options from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything and Xanathar's Guide to Everything are perfectly fine to use for subclasses and spells, provided they align with the 2024 rule framework.

Safety

How Carolyn creates a safe table

🛠️ The Safety Toolkit Lines and Veils: Before our first session, everyone will receive a digital link to an anonymous Lines and Veils form. This allows you to privately list hard boundaries (Lines) and elements you want faded to black (Veils). Digital X, N, & O Cards: Because we are playing live over Discord, we use discrete, digital safety triggers. You can drop an [X] (Stop/Edit out), [N] (Veil/Fade to black), or [O] (Keep going/Checking in) right in our dedicated game text channel at any point during play. Open Door Policy: You are always free to step away from the mic or table if you feel overwhelmed, no explanations or apologies required.
